    Yao Out Several Weeks

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2265744

Sucks for the Rockets. Just when T-Mac looks like he's back near 100%, Yao goes out, with a toe infection of all things. Maybe this will be Stromile's chance to make some noise. I can't see Mutombo getting more than 25 minutes a game.

It does suck for them, but Deke just dislocated a finger and lacerated it so it needed stitches..

They have no center. Along with that sura barry DA and alston are all out as well.

They couldnt be more specific than "several weeks"? Did they say its because they "need a lot of tiny instruments"?

I still don't understand why the Rockets haven't tried starting Swift yet.. giving Mutombo 30 minutes a game will do them no good now or the future. They paid some big bucks to bring him in yet he rots on the bench.

Meh. The team has shown me more heart than any in the league... they'll at least be fighting for an 8th seed to the very end.

Its probably because they say, "remember the Alamo!" when they break huddle.

Its comforting to know that McGrady is kinda used to this situation when he was in Orlando. I hope they will do better than when it was Yao running the show

Well, IIRC he's making part of the MLE. Hardly big bucks. I'm sure he'll get more minutes at center now, so hopefully he's up to it. The reason he hasn't played so much is because he's a project - too soft and not very smart.

And in the meantime JVG thinks Ryan Bowen deserves to start and play big minutes

That's the problem. He didnt leave ORL because he had help. Something tells me carrying a team alone catches up to you in later years... (see KG breaking down now)

That's a reason I'm not so up for trading him as of yet -- let him grow under JVG's defense coaching and have him grow with Mac and Yao. The only reason I'd give him up if we get someone like RJ in return. Both trade scenarios are laughable.

I want our entire team to just be healthy.
