    I have a question for Warriors fans and followers:

    Can you guys please tell me why Adonal Foyle is still starting over Ike Diogu?

    Now I must admit I haven't seen many Warriors games this season. However, from the seven or so games I've seen of this team, I just don't see the logic of the Warriors starting Foyle over Diogu at the moment. Diogu has proven he can do everything that Foyle can do plus more if given the same amount of playing time. Diogu has more offensive skills than Foyle, is a better rebounder than Foyle, and is a better on-ball defender than Foyle. Diogu has some issues when it comes to knowing where to be as a help defender at times, but that can improve with coaching and obviously more experience.

    I know Diogu suffered a broken hand early in the season that kept him out of the lineup for a while, but is there a conditioning problem or some other factors that I'm not aware of that's holding Diogu back from a starting role now? Is it because the coaching staff feels Diogu is too undersized to play center for a long period of time, since Foyle is about 2 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier? Just curious about this.

    Re: I have a question for Warriors fans and followers:

    I'd guess two things:

    A) With Baron Davis and JasoN Richardson in the starting lineup, brining Diogu off the bench with scoring is muhc more benefitual for him than starting him. He's not gnna get many touches with both of them on the floor at the same time, but as the go to the bench and get breathers and Diogu comes in, he's much more likely to get touches and oppurtunites to score.

    B) He's 6'8" or 6'8" and Foyle is 6'10" or 6'11". I think Foyle brings the defense that GS needs in the SL. Foyle is a solid rebounder, great shot blocker and very good man-to-man defender. Thats what GS needs in the SL more than the more talented player.

    But thats more of assumptions than facts.

      Thats what I was thinking.

      Diogu doesnt shot block like Foyle does. Sometimes you have to leave some of your scorers in the second unit and then start your defensive players so that youll always have scorers on the floor at any point in the game. How long has Bruce Bowen been starting in San Antonio? It could just as easily be Ginobili and Finley at SG/SF.

        I kinda like the Warriors but don't follow so much but the simple answer is Diogu is more of a PF/SF while Foyle can play C.

        PG = Davis
        SG = JRich
        SF = Dunleavey
        PF = Murphy(dunno if this is right,these forward positions might be swtiched)
        C = Foyle

        Back up C's are Cabarkapa and Biedrins so that's why Diogu doesn't start.

          Ike is starting tonight for Foyle who finally is moved to the bench where he belongs. The reason Ike hasn't started till yet is he missed the first 12 games and all of the pre-season with a hand injury. With that said Foyle has been a complete disaster lately dropping wide open passes from Baron that are killing the team. Not to mention his defense has been attriocious and thats the only reason he even gets on the court. Ike is a PF I don't know where it was said he was a SF last week he scored 27 on the Wallaces two of the best defenders in the league with a variety of post moves, pump fakes, fade away jumpers, and dunks. Warriors have been getting off to slow starts lately so having a post presence in the starting lineup should help them from starting slow. Only question will be is if Ike can stay out of foul trouble.

                Yeah, Ike did his thing against the Pistons at The Palace few days ago. He showed right there in that game that he's going to be a force in this league someday. Plus it did look like he had good chemistry with Baron Davis, as Davis found him under the hoop several times for dump-offs. At any rate, it's about time this move has been made. Foul trouble will likely be an issue early on with Ike, but with more playing time he'll know what he can get away with and what he can't. I think he'll be alright masking as center for a little while. Now all the Warriors need to do is find a true center to complement Ike so he can slide back over to his natural PF spot, then he'll really blossom.

                Heh, I would mostly blame Troy Murphy for the "soft" label. Murphy's a decent player, but it seems to me like he rarely, if ever, want to mix it up inside the paint on either end of the court. He's good to snag a few offensive rebounds from time to time, but it's not like he fights for most of those. From what I've seen, he gets a lot of those from long karams off the rim from the many 3s the team shoots as a whole.
