Re: NY Knicks: 5 In A Row Baby!

    Awesome to see.

I've loved the Knicks as a 'second' team since I was a kid. I watched Patty Ewing since he was at Georgetown, loved John Starks and Charles Oakley...loved the whole 'attitude' of the Knicks and what they stood for.

Pat v Dream in the 94 game 7 was THE toughest game to watch of my life as I hated to see Ewing denied, whilst was overjoyed Dream got a ring..tough, tough game to watch...

I recently bought the Knicks Dynasty DVD series...and it was great to watch those teams again.

The last few years...it's hard to say anything other than they have sucked.

Worse...they no longer were even 'hard nosed'.

They actually stood for nothing. Not tough...not skilled...nothing.

Just a transit lounge of guys coming and going...

I've never been a huge LB fan...but he's turning that team around. I love the way rookies like Lee are hustling and Frye looks good.

I've been a HUGE critic of Marbury on these forums the past few years. I've always thought he had the talent...but just could not stand his immaturity / sulking / look at me attitude.

The past 5 games he's been the best PG in the NBA. Assists galore...everyone involved and hardly a turnover.

Maybe...just maybe...he's maturing into a team player / "real" leader.

In honour of the 5 game streak and Steph making me eat my words...I'm about to add a new avatar.

Starbury: 24.2 ppg, 9.4 assists, 3.4 rpg over past 5
      J Kidd: 17. 6 ppg, 10.4 assists, 7.8 rpg

NY area has two of the top 5 point guards in the game.

But He has been great and is finally buying in to what Larry is teaching.

I mean is Allen Iverson really a point guard? Last year he was a shooting guard. How could you ever say Andre Miller is better than Marbury? I would say Paul is having a great year but right now, Marbury is the better player. Yes to Billups, Nash, Kidd...Arenas probably even though he plays more like a shooting guard. Baron Davis is debatable.

Miller is a pure point in the truest form. He rarely turns the ball over and averages almost 9 assits per game. His A/TO ratio is usually at the top of the league.

Paul right now already has a better feel for the game IMO. 8 assists per game on THAT team? Imagine if he was on a contender?

B-Diddy, I think is overrated, but is still a better player than Marbury in every way.

AI was a point last year. He's getting 7-8 assists per game.

I didn't even mention Tony Parker...

Granted Baron and Gilbert probably are better than Steph, but can somebody explain what makes them so much better? These 2 guys have some of the worst shot selection I have seen.

Steph gets a bad rap because when he was younger he left selfish and that whatever team he leaves gets better. Not to mention his famous "Best PG in the NBA statement." If he ever wins anything maybe he will get some respect.

He also didn't find his place in the LB offense until recently. But I think Baron is mainly overhyped...the guy is shooting like 37 percent and is considerd a scorer. Andre Miller...why are there constantly trade rumors about him if he's so great.

Id rank Marbury in that 5-10 range. I dont think he's a top 5 PG

Since Nate Rob starts, isn't Steph the SG now? I've only seen them once(v. Cavs) since this streak.
