I could not take it any more...traded in 2K3 (GC)

I tried arenas' slider settings and many other combinations but I kept winning by 20 - 30 points every game......even using the Cavs, Bulls, Grizzlies...whoever. Areans' settings actually made it worse because I hit more jumpers and blocked more shots! All it helped was that the steals went down.

So I took it bacl and intend to try NCAA 2K3 this week hoping that the zone defenses will prevent my drives to the lane.

The key to my blowing out the CPU was that even when I shot all J's I got 80% of the rebounds when I missed and got easy put backs.

I am not a fan of the arcade style of Live so right now I am hoopless.....I am playing the heck out of NCAA Football 2003 on my cube and GTVC on the PS2.....I hope that NCAA 2K# gives me a decent run.

man, i'm telling you, try ID 2003! that game is nooo joke! it's very good. one game, you'll win by 15, next you loose by 10-15. very good AI....
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

        LOL

I gave away LIVE 2003 and put ID2003 on the shelf (it's got amazing AI...but not enough atmosphere for a long season IMO) so that I could start with 2K3.

It's the best of three IMO.

I can see how 2k1, 2k2 players may find it too easy...but all games are like that. I hardly got to play 2K2, so it's perfect for me...all my games are wars.

How many other Xboxers prefer Live over ID? I'm curious to know some comparisons between the two. As some may know from the thread I have up, I've decided to sell 2K3. I didn't really consider Live, but now I am open to anything. Some help....please.

I like NBA2k3 since I learned how to play the game. I 've rented the other B-Ball game for the XBOX but there's nothing like the NBA atmosphere that NBA2K3 have. I love the back ground sounds in the game very good in close games.

I'm not so interested in atmosphere as I am gameplay.

ID is the best basketball game I've ever played. Not perfect, mind you, but it has fantastic physics and a nice variance in play. You won't see the same paced action play after play and game after game like in 2K3.

                  Live's a dunkfest.

Live is EASILY the best of the three ***IF*** you take the time to make it such. Everything is customizable or replicable and where it regards gameplay its almost perfect. I would love someone to show me another game that actually rewards running the correct play to perfection with a botched basket nonetheless if one players offensive awareness is too low...... Happens all the time for real in the L which is what Shaq was complaining about last night.

Out the box Live is awful. As things are today with most people they are either afraid or to lazy to take the time to correct what the producers were to inept or lazy to fix in the first place. People want it all with no attempt to work for it these days.

As far as atmosphere Live is the best also. No less than David Stern comes out to present the championship trophy. Neither of the other two can claim that as both have Finals series that are basically no different than regular season games.

That has got to be the saddest indirect commentary on the gaming industry I've ever read. "Work" on something "the producers were too inept or lazy to fix in the first place" after plunking down $50 hard-earned dollars for it? Wow. That is truly disturbing.

I had 2K2 and I bought 2K3 and when I first got home, I also thought it was very easy. I tried Arenas sliders and they were very good. I also made a few tweaks to them because the shooting %'s were a bit too high and now it is great. I started a franchise with the Wizards and I am 10-8. I just lost to the 76ers by 15. It's real good now! I didn't even touch the individual OA's. However, I also try to play a realistic game of basketball. I bring the ball upcourt and dont run around a pick every time. I set up plays and pass inside and take turn-around jumpers with Jordan and Stackhouse. Even if I am down late in a game, I will not resort to cheap points (and I turned off 8-second violation to get rid of that stupid AI bug). 2K3 becomes a much better game after serious tweaking of sliders so just be patient. It's a great game if you play it realistically. Also, before every game, I will go to the other team and put tight pressure on Jordan and Stackhouse. That also makes it tougher. And I have seen times when the PG tries to take over but basically, I get realistic stats. Last game against the Lakers, Shaq had 28 and Kobe had 21.

Why don't you just turn up the AI fg %, and turn down steals? Then the computer will stomp your ***, lol. That's what I do. Later
