    Re: Chauncey and Rip

I totally believe Chauncey should be there at the ASG, and I voted him to start even though I know he won't.

Rip though? How can you say hes doing better than Carter, who has been scoring more points, playing better defense and being the frontman for a team thats first in their division floating above .500 when everyone was counting them out?

Arenas has been having an incredible season, too. His team has been a losing one but theyre definitely improving now.

I've watched every game so far this season and been to a couple of games so far this season, and one thing i noticed is this team has four out of five starters

who could get twenty points on any given night, not to mention chauncey is one of the greatest clutch shooters in the game

In my eyes they are both locks for the ASG, Chauncey should be a starter and Rip should be the 1st guy off the bench. After watching some more Pistons games lately it just amazes me how clutch Billups is. I know it's being said alot this year but until you watch him play when it counts you have no idea, the dude just doesn't miss shots down the stretch. Last night against Milwaukee he was at it again and had a huge 3 go down in which he was also fouled but missed the FT. Milwaukee was actually leading with 2:30 left in the game but Billups did what he does and was the reason the Pistons won the game

The backup two guard spots in the east are gonna be tight. Rip, Chauncey, VC, Redd. Damn someone is gonna get snubbed.

The east has always been guard heavy. Just as the west has some forward who will be snubbed as well.

The East is guard heavy, the West is forward heavy.

So yeah, a lot of guys will get the shaft.

it seems like there should be more flexibility with reserives, i.e. have more guards than forwards in the East and more forwards than guards in the West.

Although I feel they both should go (homer ), Chauncey should go over Rip if only one of them gets in. It is a shame that someone has to get screwed.

Sure its a shame but there is no way to really offset it. It would take away from the game being special by trying to add some type of extra game or event.

agreed, but they could change how they pick the reserves. if the 5th best guard is more deserving than the 4th best forward, then put them on the team. the all star game isn't about matchups anyway.

You got VC, Wade, Arenas, and Redd who are the two guards in the east. I don't see Rip making it over any over those guys, even tho he deserves it.
