Your always a great coach when you coach the worlds best players. I'd like to see Phil coach Memphis, Golden State, Phoenix, etc. to a Championship. But he won't because he only coaches the "greatest players" cuz he knows he would fail miserably otherwise.

Phil Jackson's is definitely an amazing coach cuz he's had to deal with arrogant pimps like Kobe and Jordan (when he was playing for the Bulls). Also he put up with D-Rod the homo.

I don't think the lakers have what it takes anymore. There bench is older and less productive. Shaq has gained too much weight over the years and lost his quickness, which is why he is no longer a force on defense he used to be. The Kings or Mavs are the teams that will take it.

I know what you mean. Me being a Laker fan, I want to say things like this and be optimistic, but I think at times, most Laker fans are too optimistic. What we have to do, in general, is look at how they play. Not just win a couple of games here and there, then crown them champs again. Let's try to be realistic here. The Kings look great, the Mavs got a lot of talent, and Indiana and New Jersey. . . are in the east. It's pretty much up in the air for anybody.

The Lakers definitely have been picking it up a lot more though. Ever since mid-December, they have been looking like their older selves. They've moved the ball better, Shaq is playing better, Kobe has been absolutely amazing, and the team is hitting their shots. They just need to get a string of 10 solid games together. They have already won 4 of the last 5, and 5 of the last 7. I say, that they need to win 8 of the next 10 to actually start feeling better. If they reach .500 or at least 1 or 2 games away from .500 by All-Star break, I think they will be in good shape.

People have to stop annointing every hot team out there the champions just cause they are having a good game, or even a good season so far. The playoffs are an entirely different animal. Teams play different, harder, and more determined. You never know how things are gonna come out.

Ok, those are my 2 cents. Goooo Lakers!!!

i know about things are different in the playoffs but in order to reach there you should have at least a top8 record! as of now, the lakers aren't there! so what if the playoffs begin today???!?!? the lakers are not there! and how would you say they would be different if they aren't there!

Well, luckily for the Lakers, the playoffs don't start today. The thing that would be different is that they would be in the lottery, and get the #1 pick. They would pick up Bron bron and have a potential lineup of Fisher, James, Kobe, Horry, and Shaq.

They are building some momentum though. You gotta give them that. They are trying to be a better team. Don't know how far they will go, but hopefully enough. I'm sure Sac would be sad if the Lakers didn't make the playoffs. They want to be able to destroy the Lakers. They might get their chance.
