Did anybody see the ending of the Wizards-Hornets game

Great shot by West but they started the clock late. The clock was suppose to start as soon as it hit his hand but it didnt. It didnt start until he turned around. I know .5 seconds is enough to catch and shoot but when do they suppose to start the clock. I say the Wizards were robbed.

I saw it . Also, wasn't time supposed to go off the clock when Jeffries kicked the ball out of bounds or is that a rule? And yes the clock seemed to start late. Anyway you look at it, there was still no reason why David West should've had a wide open midrange jumper. NO REASON. Bad defensive job by the wiz.

Is this not when the instant replay supposed to be invoked?

With the margin of error the NBA refs work with, they need to use it now more than ever

They went to instant replay, but they didnt look at when the clock was suppose to start. They only focus on if he got it off with what was at hand. But they clearly started the clock late. He actually caught the ball, gain control, turn around and then they started the clock.

"NO LESS THAN :00.3 must expire on the game clock when a ball is thrown inbounds and then hit instantly out-of-bounds. If less than :00.3 expires in such a situation, the timer will be instructed to deduct AT LEAST :00.3 from the game clock. If, in the judgment of the official, the play took longer than :00.3, he will instruct the timer to deduct more time."

Wiz got robbed unless there's a rule against KICKING the ball out of bounds. If this was the Pistons/Heat on national tv there would be a 5 page thread on this.

Edit - Another thing...According to SportsNight on CSN (a local sports show here....yes it's probably biased but still they had convincing proof), they took the last part of the NOK/WSH game down, frame by frame, and it took David West .6 seconds to catch and shoot.

Anyway, i'm done. We blew a 19 point second half lead. This shouldn't of even happened. We played bad and deserved to lose. These losses happen. Bottomline...I'll get over it. No big deal.

I must have missed the kick. What happened? I take it the Hornets were taking the ball out of bounds and it got kicked. That should have taking some time off the clock. Are you saying it didnt? They got robbed ywice then.

Yes. It was very quick. Jefferies quickly kicked the ball out of bounds. The players all looked confused. 10 seconds later the Hornets player inbounded the ball. No time went off the clock at all. I think that's the reason why the clock started late. Everyone was confused.

Interesting, if the ball got kicked on an inbound pass then time should have come off like you mentioned. It was a hard fought game by the Hornets and they deserve to win if the call was legitimate. But it wasnt. That loss actually hurt and im not emotional. Oh well......

I was at the game. It was awesome!

The environment in OKC has a college atmosphere feel to it. I think it is definately a homecourt advantage. I really hope we get to keep the Hornets.

The refs made the right call on the kicked ball at the end of the game. It is a NBA rule that if the ball is kicked when inbounded then no time runs off the clock. The local news was discussing the play after the game. I was confused at the time as well.

Im pretty sure that the refs have no control on chaning the time the clock starts on instant replays. So even if the clock started late, when the refs look at it, there was nothing they could do.
