How Good Will Raymond Felton Get?

Tonight he had 10 points and 10 assist in a 110-106 victory over Portland. He's definately going to be the first All-Star for the Bobcats since Emeka has been very injury prone. Right now he's averaging 9.4 points 4.6 assist and 3.3 rebounds per game, and he's been starting for the last 15 games or so.

He's a better shooter than he showed at Chapel Hill, but he still needs to improve his defense. He does get steals and he's very aggressive, but he's been eaten up a few times this season, especially in their last game against Denver...Earl Watson, Earl Boykins and Andre Miller were all giving it to him.

Playing alongside Brevin Knight has probably sped up his progression, and I can't wait until he can lead this team to the playoffs!

I think he can end up being a 14 and 8 player... but not a lot more than that.

He does have potential, he's really athletic. It's too bad for Bobcats fans that Orlando picked Dwight instead of Emeka... because Felton, Dwight Howard and Gerald Wallace would be quite a squad for the future.

Wow, is that pic from last nite? Did they forget to open the arena doors for the fans? Or do Blazer fans even exist?

I think felton could become a 20-8 guy if he can make his jumper consistent. If he can extend his range to 3 and Okafor/Ely/Brezec stay healthy he could thrive playing like tony parker...

Can't blame them. They had a top 3 fan base in the for the last 10-20 years. That team just sucks monkey *** now.

Felton will be a poor man's Baron Davis.

Okafor was never going to be an All Star regardless of injuries.

I think Felton can become one of the better PGs in the league over time. Maybe not top 5, but probably right behind that top group. But who knows, with some better talent around him he could easily be the East's starting PG for years. Give him a healthy Okafor and either a continuing-to-improve Gerlad Wallace or a 20+ ppg wingman and he could be very dangerous. Right now that team is just so bad, it is really hard to judge Felton.

What is Wallace? 23, 24 years old? If he stays healthy he should be getting over 20 and 7/8 within a couple of years. Okafor isn't going to be a star, but he could be a big piece of a good team.

The Bobcats just need to catch a few breaks and stay healthy, with all of their young players they just need to get them on the court playing to improve, not spending all of their time recovering from injuries.

Wow, people ready to give up on Okafor already. Okafor will never score 25 ppg, but he will get you a double double each night and he is a flat out STALLWORTH on the defensive end.

I was here in Charlotte when Zo first got here and in terms of offensive and all around game, Zo was quite a bit ahead of where Okafor is. But on the defensive end, there is little difference(and if there is, it's Okafor ahead of Zo). Okafor alters so many shots in the paint, can play great man to man D, and step out and contest shots. Okafor's not the blocking machine that Zo was, but he's a still a top notch defender and should be one of the best in the L when healthy.

Okafor is still "the guy" in Charlotte. Wallace is a nice player, but he is one of the few options the Bobcats has so his numbers are better than what he actually is. I would like to see Rudy Gay brought here because I think he has to potential to be another very solid player at least. I really like a lineup of: Felton/Gay/Wallace/Okafor/Brezec with Knight and May off the bench.

The way Felton's been playing lately, it can be argued he's better than Deron Williams now.

Yup. The Jazz messed up BADLY.

Well, Jerry Sloan is notorious for destroying the confidence of rookies(Humphries, Snyder, Stevenson, Lopez just to name a few.)

                            I never really questioned that.

Williams hasnt even been great this season to say he was playing better than Felton. Niether guy was proving much early.

Deron Williams is vastly overrated IMO. I think he can be a solid NBA PG, but the guy was a 1st round hopeful heading into his senior season and then after a undefeated run, he becomes a top PG and a top 3 pick. I dont understand it. Sure he improved some, but it wasnt enough to say he should have been a top3 pick.

                            We will see though.

From my POV, i'm not giving up on him, but I just don't think he is going to be a star. A 15-18 and 10-11 per night guy could be very valuable, but he isn't going to make headlines like that. If he gets(and stays) healthy I believe he will be a key piece to any Bobcat success, I just don't think he will be a breakout star. GOod, but not great player IMO.
