you guys wanna see how stupid EA is on copyright infringement?

follow this link and read about this...

    pathetic if you ask me.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

DId you guys even read checkmates' post? Freestyle is not all about crossovers. The postup game and triple threat moves are about as realistic as it gets for a basketball game. The problem with Live is not with freestyle. Live's problems deal more with unrealistic shooting percentages, and higher than desired game speed. I haven't played ID (don't have an XBOX), but I can't see how freestyle would not improve any basketball game...

I think guys take some things to extreme to start an argument (read discussion). I don't think areneas was saying he doesn't like freestyle (in fact i'm sure he didn't say that at all) and i don't think anyone said that. The point is just that he doesn't think all games should have it and I agree with him. And it's not bc I think it's arcade or don't appreciate all that it adds to things like the post game. It's b/c I like playing team basketball and the truth is it makes you focus more onthe individual aspects of the game and encourages ignoring teammates.

In actuality 2k3 has a system that allows you to get in triple thread, jab step, etc, etc. I think that system needs to be enhanced a little and that's it. And they need to continue to improve on THEIR revolutionary move with the new passing system. Even though many have problems with it, the passing in 2k3 is the closest to realistic that any basketball game has had, and with a little tweaking will be perfect...and too me that's more important than being able to perfect individual moves b/c, as someone said, you'll generally see those "special" moves only a couple of times in an nba game. The "normal" moves don't need a freestyle system (even though 2k3 does need to do something about the lack of post moves).

the Freestyle Control system is not just to go crazy on crossovers and all that fancy stuff, it's there for the purpose that EA put it in the game:to have TOTAL control of your player. if you want to play a game and have it look like a real NBA game, then don't do all the crossovers and stuff. plain and simple. can we move on please? thanks....

Re: Why Do Peeps Want \"Freestyle Control\" In Every Basketball Game?

what i like about freestyle is its reall easy.. if im bringing the ball up the court and i wanna dribble thre my legs.. all i do is move the analog stick and i dribble thru my legs.. guys dribble thru their legs all the time.. i really missed that in 2k3 cuz from what i remember in 2k3 you had to hit the crossover button to do anything like that and you got a random move.. i like the idea of using the move i want to use not some random one...

now.. they should just make it so that not every player can do sick crossovers.. and also make it so that the D can hurt you if you use it at the wrong time.

but i think that this needs to be in the rest of the games.. it made live so much better.

also.. all the other things you could do with it.. you could practically only play with your thumb on it. cuz you could do all the defensive things with it too.

I an not a fan of freesyle control because as others have already posted, it deminishes the team aspect of basketball. If freestyle control is included, it should ONLY BE AN OPTION. For those who do not like freestyle control scheme, keep the present control scheme and include the freetyle control for people who prefer it.

Don't know if this was a direct reply to my post but if it was you may want to read before you write, lol.

And FYI, the moves in 2k3 are not random at all. The manual doesn't tell you what doing what will give you so you just push in directions and it may seem random but they aren't at all. It's pretty much like a mini freestyle if you wanna call it that, and is good enough to me for that game b/c it doesn't take away from the rest of the team.

There's nothing "wrong" with freestyle control...all you people in defense, why do you keep acting like that's what everyone is saying? Freestyle is good. It just doesn't need to be in every game.
