Why is there never any fans in Heat games?

Ok this is probably the 4-5th time I've watched the Heat on national tv, and everytime I've realized that everytime, for at least 1 quarter, there are never any fans in the seats. Whats up with that? Does south beach think they're too good to actually arrive on time for the game? Its funny cause I would litterally see only 100 people in the lower level seats, and a bunch of open red seats.

I can see this happening for a Heat/Knicks game, but I thought Lebron vs DWade might bring a full house. I guess I thought wrong.

Yep, it's like that in LA too. The crowds in South Beach and LA are too cool to arrive on time for a sporting event. I guess they want to be "fashionably late"

Miami doesn't really care about pro basketball, regardless of how good or bad the team is. I remember wondering the same thing myself when I was watching a big Heat game, and the announcers later said something along the lines of, "Yeah, here in Miami, the beach and the nightclubs come first.." I think that's pretty much it.

That is the same reason why the University of Miami can never sell out football games. There are so many other things people would rather do in South Florida than go to football/basketball/baseball games.

Which is stupid, because the teams down there are usually very competitive.

            Sounds like Southern California.

It applies to SoCal as well.

Traffic permitting, American Airlines Arena is literally 20 minutes away from Ocean Drive in Miami Beach (South Beach). "1 PM on a Sunday in South Beach--hmm, I feel like watching the first half of the Cavs/Heat game." NOT. AAA doesn't start really filling up until the second half of Heat games.

Who could blame them? To be honest, there are about 10 things I'd rather do in L.A.(SoCal) then watch a professional sporting event.

Dodger and Laker tickets acutally sell out very well here. At every Dodger game I've been to, there's been at least 50,000 fans+, and you never see an open spot in the bleachers.
