I've picked up NBA2K3 for the GameCube recently, and it plays pretty nice. I have one major major gripe with it (and other competing basketball games) though. The camera angle.
The last NBA console game I had played was NBA2K for the Dreamcast. It was outstanding. Some flaws here and there, but one of the camera angles it offered was the side-view cam, where you could set it up so it looked VERY MUCH like what you see on TV when watching NBA games. I think it was called the 'Side' cam or something. Basically, you see one-half of the court at most, and it looks very similar to what you see on TV, except for the fact that you can see all your players on that one half of the court so it made it very nice to play the game. It was at just the right zoom and height level where you could play the game very comfortably, see everyone and spot the open man and all.
Ever since NBA2K for the Dreamcast, I haven't seen one NBA game to include this camera angle! I mean sure there is a side view, but you can't configure it so it looks like what you see on TV.. either the camera is too high up, or it 'swivels' instead of just moving with the players up and down the court.. I don't know. It just doesn't feel -right-.
Now, I keep toying with the camera angles in NBA2k3, but I can't get it right.
Does anyone have advice or a solution to this? If any of you have NBA2K for the DC, please tell me you know what I'm talking about. Cuz I absolutely hate playing the NBA2K3 in the default camera view, which is totally suitable for Football, but not Basketball.
