SMH...Now this has to be one of the dumbest comments he has ever made...I usually respect his comments but this is just absurd...AI is having possibly the best year he has ever had in the NBA (individually) and he goes and slaps AI in the face by saying that Gilbert "at this stage in his career" is a better player than AI...bull...

I don't like stats so much that I would say hands down AI is still a better player than Gilbert at this stage. To me it's a dead heat.. but that's still saying a lot about Arenas. -

also, both kenny and charles agreed tonight that the MVP should be between ex teammates Dirk and Nash. i actually agree completely.. nobody else to me is in this race. ultimately nash deserves it more.. i think it's comedy that there's lots of people on this board that don't think dirk deserves it.Comment

He didnt mean what you think fobby. He flat out said he's better than AI. I immediately thought about defense, because being a chucker is becoming common with some players now.
I wont even go into the entire reason the NBA blows as bad as it does now with the new rules catering to the offensive side of the floor only.

But Brand is also having a career year with the Clippers...and I think that Dallas has WAAAY more talent than the Clips do...they have alot of young guys (Josh Howard...Devin Harris...Marquis Daniels and those other two players they just signed due to injury) and they have some of the best scouts in the L if you ask me...only young player on the CLips that stick out in my mind is Shawn LivingstonComment

I think I remember having this discussion about Dirk and the MVP a good 2-3 weeks ago. Things havn't changed and unless Phoniex goes on a complete run with Amare and Dallas falters down the stretch, I believe Dirk will be holding that trophy come May.

As to Arenas and AI, Ai has definately had the better career. Right now they are very similar players with similar skills but I think AI still gets the nod and is the better overall player. Not an outrageous comment but Id disagree.Comment

now for the unknown guys who are basically putting the clippers over the edge into a bonafide playoff team.. Q ross and James Singleton.. both are similar to josh howard and daniels in the sense that they are high energy/efficient players who are team first. both play defense first and foremost but can hit shots too.
then you have vlad, shaun livingston, rebraca, and daniel ewing. this team is freaking loaded.. and don't think in any way shape or form have a less talented team on paper than the mavs.
the mavs have terry, daniels, howard, van horn, damp, devin harris, griffin and stack. please explain how that is more talent than the clippers. terry is similar to mobely, besides that the clippers individual talent is just superior to the mavs.Comment

This is the 2nd year that Dirk has played at an MVP type level cdub. Thus the reason he finished 3rd in MVP voting last year and is going to finihs top 2 this year.
The years before he was just a good, all-star player, but not a MVP type player.
Im sorry you dont understand it. Its quite obvious and its a shame not to see what great play Dirk is giving to the Mavericks this year. I dont see how a fan cant understand it.Comment
