        Re: After watching Lebron play.....

I saw the game and I have one word to say about the kid. OVERRATED!M

Here he is national TV playing the number 1 rated team in HS and he doesnt ssem excited or energized at all on the court. He doesnt play defense hard, he doesnt hit the boards hard, he doesnt move at all on offense, and his jumpshot is very suspect. I was impressed by his athletic ability but thats the problem.

Bill Walton and Vitale were kissing his *** all through the game even though the majority of his points came from dunks and from the freethrow line. And i'm not even mentioning the fact that at 6'6 he was the tallest player on the court.

All ways be ware of the high schooler whose main highlights are dunks. See: Kwame Brown

Now I'm not saying he isnt any good or that he wont be good in the NBA someday but if he plays like he did yesterday when he is in the pros he will be in big trouble.

He had 13 rebounds didn't he? Although I was impressed, I'd be hard-pressed to believe he'll be a stud in the NBA early. He'll be pretty good though.

First off, it was ONE game.

Did you see any of his passes? He has great court vision. See: Behind the back bounce pass in transition; at least 2 more perfect no look passes.

6' 8", 235lbs and he can handle the rock.

St.V is no slouch, but he makes his teammates better and they were good enough last night to beat the #1 team by 20 POINTS.

His main highlight is not a dunk, it's his overall game.

I also guess you didn't see the backdoor play that he had: that's moving without the ball.

I disagree with you on the energy aspect. Cause he seemed pretty energized to me. But I do agree with the overatedness.
We know that the players he faced were the best team in the nation but they were just high schoolers. In chicago, King was the top rated team in the nation yaers back and where are those players now. They only had the best team because of recruting players from across the nation as was said in the telecast. He defetnitly has sheer talent, but it really was'nt worth showing him on national tv. And the Bill Walton and Dickie V nuthuggin was too extreme. I mean damn, sick his duck why dont they.
Only reason I'm not as impressed is b/c it was only high school level and i've seen players have games like that before.(Quetin Richardson, Kevin Garnett, Paul Mcpeorson.)
And it was really nothing new to me.

Yes he had 13 rebounds but he also was the tallest and most athletic player on the court most of the game. Hitting the boards hard is going aggressively to get rebounds. Most of his rebounds occured when he was positioned down low and he used his athleticism to get the boards. You can do that and get alot of rebounds in high school but you cant do that in the nba.

The passes were impressive but Its easy to fine the open man when the other 5 players are all focused on you. The behind the back pass in transition was impressive but Ive seen other high schoolers do it. Ex. Sebastian Telefair(Marbury's cousin). But vitale, Walton and ESPN acted like no other player has ever sone this at a high school level.

Dont compare him to Duncan. 2 different players. 2 different positions. 2 different responsibilties on the court. Also reffering to one play does not mean he moves without the ball well. The back door play was an example of good movement but that doesnt mean he did it throughout the game.

I watched him throughout the game. I didnt pay much attention to the other players on the team because one of the keys to scouting a plyer is watching him without the ball, not with it.

Most of the game I saw him standing around. Whether it was in the post, at the three point line, or in the paint.

Now I'm not saying he wont be good. Im not even saying he wont be great. But I dont think he is ready for the NBA yet and he maybe could use a year or 2 of college. Still If he is gonna be the number 1 pick he should go.

My reference to TIm Duncan was based on your comment about his lack of excitement. He showed some emotion, but he wasn't out there talking trash and drawing all of the attention to himself.

He wasnt? LOL! Did you see him mugging for the camera after every dunk? Or puffing out his chest when he finally hit a jumpshot? Those were perfect examples of briging attention to himself.

And I what I meant by lack of excitement was a lack of energy. I watched Duncan all through college and now the pros and while he isnt exciting to watch, he never lacks energy. He was and is always moving whether its fighting for position in the post or setting a pick.

I didnt see the same amount of energy from James last night and I should have seen it from him since it was a nationally televised game and his spotlight.

Seriously. The kid has skills. He dominates his HS games. You won't really know anything till he hits the pros. You can guess all you want, and think this and think that, but until we see him against, TMac, Kobe, AI, or another great guard, we won't know. He definitely has the body, handles, passes and hops to make it. Needs to work on his J over the summer. Other than that, he'll be ok. But like I said, we don't know that much. Especially on the defensive side.

He hasn't had to work that much on that aspect yet. I wonder how he's going to do when AI goes right at him, crossin his *** over and droppin 40 on him. Would he hold his head down, or work harder and come back with a vengence on D. Things like that, you just don't know, until it happens. This time next year, we should get a good feel for the kid.

My biggest problem with him is that his family is out of control. They act like he's Jordan already.
