Need more than that. What specific venom did he spew? Need a few good laughs. -
Re: Wow.... Stephan A Smith
Smith went on and on about how he has recieved a lot of nasty e-mails and voice messages from Rap fans after he made his comments about Charlie V. He ripped Babcock again. He said Babcock didn't even want to draft Charlie V and his first choice was Antoine Wright.
He called himself a "gravedigger" and said he's rarely ever wrong. He was his usual over the top self.
What cracked me up is how he ended his interview. He sucked up to Toronto saying what a great city it is and how there's lots of pretty women there.
BTW somebody needs to tell him to stop yelling into the camera all the time.Comment

Re: Wow.... Stephan A Smith
Not suprising as Smith is probably the 1st one to admit he's a sideshow and is there to entertain a la Don Cherry. Any minor credibility he ever has was blown up with his CV comments hence the reason's he's trying to cover his *** with the Wright comment.
Let's be honest most of the media and fans laughed at the pick as well as the Frye pick by NY. Usually after the top 3 or 4 picks in a draft it's a crapshoot anyways and the media and GM's aren't even on the same page evaluating talent so you always get the "suprise picks" that the media didn't see coming because most of the media are ******** when it comes to evaluating a supposed "top talent". If CV stayed in college and declared for this years draft he would have been a top 3 pick and maybe #1 so the Raps were smart in grabbing him a year early because they saw his high ceiling and gambled.
Many teams drafting mid round do it for potential and accumalating assets so they can deal from strength when they inevitably trade one of those assets for something they need. For instance Toronto could invaribly trade CV for a top point guard next year much like they did when they traded Camby for Oakley which at the time was a great trade for what Toronto needed at the time.Comment

Re: Wow.... Stephan A Smith
Didn't see the 10 minute interview, but the highlights on the Score. He was saying his original criticism of the pick was after Babcock said he drafted a guy that he could combine with Bosh to use interchangably at PF and C. I don't doubt Babcock saying that, so he might actually be right there, but it definitely sounded like he was covering his ***.
Although backpeddling like that doesn't make all that much sense when he was trashing Raptor fans, lol.Comment

Stephen A. Smith has some good points. i enjoy him. he is really underrated IMO. How is he a thug because he yells to get his point across? Some people do that. Until I see a full transcript of the interview I won't believe a bias point of view."It's quite frightening to sing "Who's World Is This?" without proper enlightment"

Re: Wow.... Stephan A Smith
He acts like a preacher when he spouts off his ramblings. Many of his points are way off topic, and usually have nothing to do with whats being said at hand. I cant give examples, becuase when he starts blathering, i tune him out completely."Basketball may have been born in Massachusetts, but it grew up in Indiana." - James NaismithComment

it usually goes something like " The fact of the matter is this.............." I find it funny and annoying at the same time. It's almost like he brings that NYC street mentality to a broadcast.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Originally posted by ComboFine don't believe me, beacuse theres obviously no way i know how to get a transcript of it, but think about it. Every single point he makes he trails off from the main subject and just starts bantering like a woman on her rag. His good points are very very far few in between.
I am one of the 20 African Americans to be in this business
I am a gravedigger and I can say no wrong
That's what I saw in the last 4-5 questions thats being asked to him when I tuned in. He has always repeated himself about how he's one of the select few African American journalist in the business, it's beyond me on why we should care about him and his African American descendancy.Comment

Now, I hate how he yells and is overexaggerated, but I really like some of his serious interviews on his show. I gotta give him credit, I thought it wouldnt last more than a month, but it's not a bad show at all.Comment
