He's averaging 30+ per game vs Phoenix this year I don't think Marion will be slowing Down Dirk anymore than Bowen or Artest did this week.

As for Horry you have to be kidding me....

Horry couldn't defend Dirk if he was 10 years younger. I don't know why people assume any guy with some length can defend Dirk. Houston came up with a good game plan on Dirk in last years post season by using quicker players on him which caught Dallas by surprise.

Avery used this entire offseason and regular season to prepare Dirk for those tactics and now teams are running out of options with the little guy's and big guy's. Bowen slowed him down one game and everyone got paranoid. They totally forgot that Dirk destroyed San Antonio in Dallas for 30+ the very first meeeting with Bowen defending him.

At this point the only way your going to stop him is unless his shot just isn't falling or you try and do what San Antonio did throw 2-3 defenders at him and make him give up the ball. Last night they strategy backfired because not only did they not have an answer for Dirk they couldn't control Howard either.

When Harris comes back it will create another headache for teams in thehalf court game.

The X factor is Duncan... on offense Duncan has to do better. If Duncan gets his it he and Dirk will cancel each other out. But if Tony Parker and Manu are ur scoring options you are in big trouble. Because that means the game tempo is in the Mavs favor. When Duncan is scoring in the low post as he should it slows the game and also slows the tempo for the Mavs. What teams have to do is find a better way to switch on those screens cause that is giving people fits when defending Dirk. Mavs throw a couple of screens and the next thing you know you got Tony Parker guarding Dirk.

Isn't Duncan averaging a career low in scoring? Somehow I don't think below 20 ppg will exactly cancel out an MVP candidate. As for slowing the game down the Mavs have been playing a half-court game most of the season.

Slowing Tempo = limiting possesions and shots of the Mavs. The Mavs take alot of shots the look to score quickly even in the Half Court set. So force tempo limit his touches which will lower attempts. Other than that pray for rain cause if he wants to he is almost unstoppable.

How many points did the Mavs win by?... 6 points. Duncan was like 5-15 scored 13 points you think thats gonna keep happening. You trully believe Tim Duncan cant score 10 more points. Good win by the Mavs but if Duncan scores his career low average of 20 points the game would have been different.

With that logic.. you have to count in the missing contributions from KVH, Devin, and Adrian Griffin. Once you do that you may sound subjective.
