Big Ben refuses to re-enter the game for Flip

Get the latest local Detroit and Michigan breaking news and analysis , sports and scores, photos, video and more from The Detroit News.

With 7:57 left in the fourth quarter, coach Flip Saunders took Wallace out of the game. Wallace was clearly peeved. He had played all 15 minutes of the second half to that point, and he stormed to the end of the bench uttering a torrent of unprintables directed at Saunders.

Saunders explained the move to Wallace, who waved him off.

A couple of minutes later, Saunders.......

It was a bitch move when Pippen did it, and this is no different except for the fact that it's not the playoffs, so it will be forgotten. Francis did it earlier this year too. They should fine him and move on.

Just not cool. I wonder if Ben is foreshadowing a leave after this season? He's a free agent right? This will definitely be some great stuff this off-season to see if other teams will be fighting for him. That definitely should be a paycut though. Sometimes, the league just is so beautiful but they are all human. He's a captain too?? I definitely hope they at least make some big noise in the playoffs.

Part of Ben Wallace's frustration might stem from his problems at the free-throw line. He has made just 5 of his last 32 attempts.

the article is right; detroit owned the pacers had big ben finishes with 22 rebounds, 9 OFFENSIVE, in only 34 minutes

            REDEMPTION!

I missed Friday's game because of work and after seeing the box score and reading a weird Flip quote about the players in there "playing their guts out" it makes sense as to what happened. He was very wrong, and it is against his character to do it. They played better and so did he and it seems to be behind them. He hasn't been playing that good recently so I guess he just lost it. Wrong way to handle it Ben.

I remember a UNM player a few years ago... some of you might sadly remember his name, Patrick Dennehy. well he stormed OFF the court and went to the lockerroom after some type of team/coach exchange. Its hard talking about those bad times when he's dead. but this reminded me of that

That really has to take skill to do... I don't think I could miss that many if I had to hit the rim... If I had to miss freethrows but still hit the rim... I would make more than 5.

yeah, I think you're giving Wallace too much credit though. he definitely throws up some airballs.

A Piston with a bad attitude... why am I not surprised?

Because the Bulls have no history of controversial players.

And if you saw today's game...I'd have to say Ben's okay, Flip's okay, chemistry is okay, and the team is okay.

What does this have to do with the Bulls?

I'm sure chemistry's OK. But in my mind, constant crying, whining, complaining, excuses... that all equates to bad attitude.

You just called out about 95% of the NBA... All players nowadays are like that. Players like Rasheed just get more media attention than others..
