If Gordon was 6'6" (he's 6'1") he'd probably be one of the Top 5 players in the L.

But c'mon, Gordon is my favorite player currently in the L and he's no where near D-Wade's stature.

I don't know if its fair to compare the two as long as D-Wade has Shaq. Wade and Gordan's rookie stats are comparable(pre-Shaq). Once you added the Diesel in the equation everyone on the Heat is automatically better. Nash, Duncan, Shaq and I think Lebron is getting there...have this quality. Comparing on straight talent, I believe that the two are very similar but just have different mindsets. Dwayne chooses to drive while Gordan looks to shoot. Gordan can slash but just has a shooters mentality. If both look to expand their game, we should have our new set of stars...Right now howeveer...nod to D-Wade.

Which is exactly why Kobe is better this year than two years ago. Sure, Shaq makes it a little easier, but when it all comes down to it.... Wade worked to get better.. If Wade didn't WORK to get better he would barely be tipping 18 points a game right now.

Hmm funny you highlighted the beginning of the post and not the end. And again if you compare the ROOKIE seasons of the two they are comparable. The Lakers went from NBA favorites for the title to 7-8 seed hopefuls. Miami went from 7-8 seed hopefuls to NBA favorites for the title...I wonder why? Shaq makes it ALOT easier, ask Kobe. Kobe has to average 35 a night just to slip into the playoffs, cmon. Wade is awesome, yes. Better than Gordan, yes. Do you know how great Hinrich and Gordan would look if they had Shaq inside???

The fact that Wade made his mark in the playoffs says a lot about him and his game, though. Nearly taking out the Pacers? Does it help that he has Shaq now? Duh, but his game was there and better than Gordan's before his arrival.

My god, when was the last time you watched the Heat?

Wade has put up some 30-40 point games without Shaq there.

People still continue to live by the myth that Shaq has made D-Wade, when that is so far from the truth, it's not even funny.

There is no comparsion as they are two completely different types of players.
But I will say this Wade is not a top 5 player. Take Shaq away and Wade drops to that 15-25 range.
