he travelled in the first place 95 - 93 and then with the winning shot he made 4 steps????? they should have called it at least once

I can understand not calling most of the ticky-tack travels throughout the game, but blatantly obvious travels like those need to get called.

NBA always has (in the last 10 years at least) and always will be a joke on the travel rule.

The Spurs are catching passes on the perimeter all game against the Kings and shuffling 2 or 3 steps before stopping and starting a move. Duncan is doing his best Karl Malone impersonation too, shuffling backwards a number of small steps in the high post before passing.

Most post move travels get ignored throughout the league too.

Then the refs see someone do something strange and make a move from a difficult situation, that they think couldn't be legal so they call a travel even though it was just a good move.

And as much as anyone will deny it, Hakeem was part of the Travelling Wilburys too.

In fact, the travel rule is one major reason why big nba guys struggle in international competitions.

- Just watched that James clip. Now that is where travelling becomes cheating. If the rule was intact, he could not have made that move. Whistle, Wizards win.

A genuine John Thompson classic. Pat, Dikembe & Alonzo: traveling hook plus an offensive push-off with the off hand - preferably to the throat or face.

The extra step(s) thing is annoying, but one that gets me more riled up is the pivot foot violations. Whether it's the shuffle-slide (Timmy's fav) or the pick up the pivot foot before you dribble (big no-no: if you lift your pivot foot you may only pass or shoot - LeBron and Wade are the two violators that pop first to mind). I just wished they called the rules as written and made the players and coaches adjust.

Oh my god, the refs have always been my only complaint when it came to the NBA. If this were cleaned up, the Bucks would have a mighty good chance at making it to the finals.
