Any tips for drawing shooting fouls in ID 2003?

I try to pump fake a lot, and sometimes the defender goes for the fake, but even if I try to lean into him, I don't get a shooting foul called. This is very annoying since I only average around 3-4 free throws a GAME!

I try to use the pivot button to move my offensive player when he has stopped dribbling so I can get good position to lean into the defender also, but still no luck.

I try to drive the lane a LOT, and other than a few reach in fouls rarely any shooting fouls are called. Even when defenders go to block the ball and I dunk on them. Guys just fall down as well on my way to the hoop.

I try to post up, but still no luck either. I'm playing with the Wizards by the way.

I try to also press the shoot buttion whenever a defender reaches in, but the ball is stripped more often than a reach-in foul called.

I played around with the sliders, reduced steal ratings and tried it several times. Only once was I able to successfully draw a shooting foul from a reach in foul.

And yet, NBA players do this a LOT (draw fouls whenever the defender's about to reach in).

Anyone else have the same complaints? Anyone get to the free throw line on a regular basis? Some games I NEVER go to the line no matter what I do.

Yea I'm having the same problems. I get about 2-3 foul shots a game. They edfinitely need to work on this for ID 2004.

Yeah this was my main reason for taking ID back a week ago. I started getting to the line a little more...10-12 freethrows most games. There wasn't really a trick to it, I just forced the ball into the post more and drove to the basket, and the whistle blew in my favor more often, but just not often enough.

10-12 occasionally, then what you guys are getting and sometimes 0. To say the least that ended up being a game breaker for me. I hope they join forces with Sega for 2K4! Here's to hoping!

I'm starting to also get to the line about 8-10 times a game now.Although,I'd like it to be more than that.Another thing i noticed that's different to last year is that they dont intentionally foul you now at the end of close games as much.ID 2002 it seem to intentionally foul you a lot more often.Another thing is when you make the fast break and go to lay up they foul you but you get the 3pt play 99% of the time.Also it seems the top players (especially guards) in every team that i play against seem to get into foul trouble early.The consistent charging fouls when they're driving seems to be main cause of this.I heard some guy saying that if you run all the plays you'll get more fouls called.
