Is it just me or does the West not have a chance?

Maybe it's East Coast bias or not giving the Mavericks and Suns due respect, but I can't get over the idea that the Pistons or Heat will not lose in the NBA Finals. Detroit and Miami have seasoned each other, through last year's playoffs and what they bring, to the point that they have definitive personnel advantages over the Mavs and Suns. Yes, the Suns have come this far without Amare Stoudemire, but can they win a title without him? Sure, the Mavericks won 60 games and just beat the Spurs -- whether or not it's an upset is another topic -- but the Mavs have yet to prove they can win on such a bright stage. The Pistons, we know what they can do as the best team in the NBA over the last three years. The Heat have Shaq, Dwayne Wade and a supporting cast that can produce, therefore they're just as seasoned as what the West brings. Maybe I'm just a stubborn 24-year-old who can't get out of the days where the Clippers won only 23, and them getting to a Game 7 in the conference semifinals is a sign of weakness.

If the Suns somehow beat the Mavericks, (they won't), the East will win the Finals for sure.

But I think the Mavericks have a good shot against Detroit or Miami.

The West is still the superior conference.

Probably doesn't get much bigger than that, at this point in the season.

Before the playoffs even started, most people looked at the Dallas vs. San Antonio match-up, as pretty much the WCF.

Obviously this guy hasn't seen Miami play vs Dallas over the past two years with Shaq and Wade.

The Heat have been smoked by Dallas 0-4 in that time frame and they simply don't matchup with Dallas very well.

So, I'm sure where his debate is that Miami personel favors them over Dallas. That is the far from the truth.

As for Detroit the Mavs have won 5 of the last 7 meetings vs the Pistons. As great as Detroit looks on paper when it comes down to it on the court they aswell have had difficulties dealing with the Mavs. In fact in their last matchup vs Dallas this year believe it or not they couldn't even contain Stackhouse or Van Horn let alone Dirk and Terry. This was all done without Howard, Harris and Griffin.

I just don't see Miami beating Dallas and the Pistons will have their hands full with the Mavs aswell.

Dallas dominates Miami.

Dallas plays Detroit well, too. In fact, I was there when the Mavs beat them by 37 points earlier this year.

It's not like the Clippers played 82 games, made the playoffs and dusted the Nuggets or anything. Since when does going to game 7 make a team weak? If that's true then let's say the Pistons are just as weak, they should have destroyed the Cavs like everyone was saying after game 1.

To already say any of these 4 teams are out of it already is foolish.

What about the NBA Playoffs 2005 game 7 vs T-Mac and Yao?

Is that considered a choke job since they only won by 40 and 50.
