Re: Jordan
I'm saying...especially when he averaged 32.5, 8reb, 8ast, and 2.89 steals while shooting .538 from the field...in the era of handchecking, top centers and more talent on teams as the league was much smaller then and it was just his 4th FULL season...CRAZY. BTW, had he not come back with Washington, he would've finished as a career 50% shooter instead of .497Comment

That was my point earlier, that season was far more spectacular than his 37ppg season.
Its the same year he won everything MVP All Star MVP, NBA All first, NBA first defensive , DPOY, and more things im leaving out.
That was one of the most insane seasons ever.Comment

Re: Jordan
Like Ive said many times, Jordans career was a series of amazing events. Hercules' 12 feats of strength pale in comparison to Jordan's 40. Seriously though, whoever said this should be introduced in every "better than Jordan" thread, hit the nail on the head.Comment

Re: Jordan
LOL...some of these bring back memories...but some of these are just silly. #38. The original Dream Team, the greatest collection of talent in organized sport history, beats a squad of college stars by 56. Go figure. And since when is scoring 64 points on 49 shots a good thing? Be real, Kobe would be roasted alive for that...
Yeah, yeah, McCoy hating again...but honestly, are all 40 of these great moments? MJ is the NO DOUBT G.O.A.T., but c'mon.
I do like this one though:
"on March 25, 1989. Getting tired of being told he's just a scorer and Magic Johnson is a winner..." Some guys act as if MJ was ALWAYS known as Jehovah the all-around baller. Nope. When he was young, he was considered a ball-hoggin scorer who couldn't win in the post season...just like a few current players. Funny...I defended him as passionately to family (Dad and Uncle hated MJ/loved Dr. J) then as I defend my guys now.
Go figure.Last edited by HMcCoy; 05-29-2006, 01:57 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Getting tired of being told he's just a scorer and Magic Johnson is a winner, Mike led the Bulls to a sweep of a Western Conference trip with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. It is a period of 14 games in which he averaged 32.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 11.9 assists and recorded 11 triple-doubles in the 14 games, twice also while scoring more than 40 points;
Plus, I found sth else to be pretty funny and amazing:
- Dec. 12, 1987. The legend grows as Jordan beats the Rockets with 44 points, blocks shots by Hakeem Olajuwon and Ralph Sampson and ends the game with more blocks than the two 7-footers combined. Whatever is needed;
or…
- Jan. 16, 1993. Shaquille O'Neal is the big thing in the NBA that season, so in Orlando's first visit to Chicago, Mike goes for 64 points, his second most ever, while squeezing off a personal-most 49 shots in an overtime game. Turn the camera toward Mike;
- March 20, 1993. Mike doesn't pay much attention as a kid named LaBradford Smith lights him up for 37 in a close Bulls win. Jordan is furious, even with the victory, and tells teammates he'll get 37 in the first half the next night, when in a quirk in the schedule the Bulls are playing Washington again. Jordan gets 36 in the first half and rims out a jumper as the first half ends with the Bulls blowing out the then-Bullets.
There are so many facts about him that are so incredible, it’s astonishing.
The man was just gangsta.Comment

Picture a 14-15 year old boy sitting in an old, beat up chair in his room with a tear running down his face while MJ hopped around downtown Cleveland... True story. Mike was the MF'n MAN. Bastid.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment
