Sure Ben got all ball with his hand, as do alot of defenders that block shots on perimeter players, but he also got his arm and his body. Since shaq was going up for a dunk, it is ok that there is some contact, but if Dwayne was shooting a three and there was that much contact, there is a foul called. Thats it, thats the point.
Did you actually see it? Ben's arm never came in contact with Shaq's arm.

As far as non called fouls go, Shaq is also the benificiary of that. He doesn't get a lot of fouls called when he throws himself into people.

Where does Ben have his arm?????

Even if their arms were touching... they have shared possession at that moment and the ball, under rule, is an extension of both of their arms.

In all honesty, Ben got him before the actual clean block of the ball. When he initially leaves the ground one of his arms makes contact with Shaq's body...before the block. If any one has the film show it and you can see what might be considered a foul. The actual block was clean, the play in it's entirety could be considered a foul.

Now, if the rule is that a player can make contact with another players body after a block has begun then it is a legit no call. But if a player initially blocks a shot and makes contact with the body of the shooter is that a foul? Again, Ben's non blocking arm uses Shaq's body for support to stay in the air, look closely.
If that was called a foul, I would seriously stop watching the NBA.

You could argue that Shaq fell because Ben's use of Shaq's body for support knocked Shag off balance more so than the shot block.

if you watch clearly the replay from the overhead camera you can clearly see that before the block Ben's body makes contact with Shaq's..

they shouldn't call such fouls..but they do..and in that situation they were inconsistent.. It was Shaq..a BIG guy..so they let it go

He absolutely was embarassed, and I am sure he knows it after reading papers, listening to the radio, etc...

Everyone knows it was a clean stuff right in Shaq's face, embarassing reaction to that woman reporter who asked him that question about it. His ego was hurt, nothing more, nothing less.

I LOL at people coming to his defense in this thread saying it was a foul, their arguments, as well as Shaq's reaction, are a joke.

Well I said it on the 1st page that the Pistons would win it, of course I am sticking to it now

But the Heat let a golden oppurtunity pass in game 5 and the all know it. Now guess what, the Pistons can see the light at the end of tunnel, and it isn't going to be any easier for Miami to win game 6 at home.

Also, great block, all ball. Ben's arm was more like skimming shaq's jersey, and I don't know how he would use shaq to support his flight when Ben was like 3 feet over him.

Shaq got it coming to him, he disrespects some of the other Centers in the L with some of his comments.

A stat that shocked me when I read it in the Detroit Free Press today...

Dating back to 2003, the Pistons are 8-0 in Game 6s...including 5-0 when facing elimination, and 4 of those 5 wins are on the road.

Ben is 6'9 and he has crazy hops. In the cleveland series he blocked a shot but it was goal tending. On the replay his hand was at the top of the square on the backboard. So it must be somewhat high. But shaq can touch 3ft. above the rim so shaq can get up to.
