    GOING BACK TO NBA2K2 DC.....

everyone should try this. you'll all be amazed! i just played a game of NBA 2k2 (DC) and it was soooo much fun. i played Lakers (me) vs Celtics at LA. P2 went nuts with 37 points. the first half, he had 24, then i shut him down in the 3rd with doulbe teams, and box in 1's. that left the door open for Twann! he lit me up for 16 in the quarter. the game flow is sooooo much better than 2k3, it it's even funny. i did create the top rookies in the game (top choice for each team). the cpu runs plays, and moves the ball, Shaq can back players down, and the dunks in this game makes 2k3 look "out dated". i think J-Rich was a poor choice to do motion cap. for the dunks because he's a "stiff dunker", no lean, or leg flare.

the other team did double team Shaq when he got hot, and and the Celtics ran Iso's for P2 when he was killin' Kobe. if Sega can go back to the 2k2 fomula, they'll have a winner!...

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

      this is an old question.

But is the Dreamcast version a lot different in the catergories you're speaking of compared to ps2?

Yes it played very good, but how do you think the PS2 missed the mark so to say on this. Do the ID fans think it is superior to this game also without sliders?

the ps2 (XBoX) versions were good first tries for the new systems. the big difference in teh DC and ps2 versions (other than grfx, the DC version was more cartoony) were the defensive AI. in the DC verson, it was a battle to get past a defender. you'd have to have a good ball handler to get by players. also, the players finished realistically. you saw a lot of layups when players got to the hole but had low fatigue.

the star plyers simply product in this game! Like i said before, Shaq had a run were he scored about 34 straight buckets and blocked or altered a few shots. the Celtics began to double him and forced me to pass out to perimeter players for open shots. some fell, some did not.

the variety of low post shots ands dunks i what really shocked me. if you go to the practice mode, for about 10 minutes, you'll see the same dunk maybe 2-3 times in 2k2 (DC), but in 2k3, you'll see the same 10 dunks that are in the game. also, players like Webber, VC and Shaq ALL have different dunks!

for the low post moves, players will drop step, turn around hooks, lean in finger rolls, ect. in 2k3, players will jump hook or do that stupid fade away with no one near them.

the fast break exist in this game. rarely will a player st\op on the break.

and man, what the hell happen to the commentary in 2k3! you'll rarely hear the same thing repeated in 2k2 for one game.

just awsome. if this continues, 2k3 will be traded in for Tomb Raider...

              Hey Whaaaazuuuuup,

I played 2k2 on DC and boy is this sad. I think VC dropped the ball on letting some of the things go from 2k2. The dunks, lay-ups, and post moves were all better. The defense plays you so well, and you can't just blow by defenders w/o a double team, or players switching , or being triple teamed. It's so much more. I can't believe VC didn't include most of the things from that game into 2k3. I would think it has the best A.I. in any basketball game. Shooting the rock at the buzzer, call a timeout in the closing seconds of a close game after the opposing team hits a tie breaker, no problem. I see why I played this game to wee hours of the morning. I just can't get over the fact that with this, and the new features of NBA 2k3 what a game you'd have on your hands.

yeah, you see. 2k2 DC had is a solid game. 2k3 can't touch it. it's all good though. since i created the rookies from this year, the game is doing fine. i'm happy.

and think of it, no need for sliders in this game.....

He plays like Iverson, he's not as quick, but he is stronger than AI.

quote "the fast break exist in this game. rarely will a player stop on the break."

adjust your team settings in 2K3 and fast breaks happen just as much as 2K2. I set the nets to high tempo + fast break and it changed them DRAMATICALLY in 2k3. Kidd had 14 assists and Martin and Jefferson were flying down the court.

They screwed up the teams settings in 2K3.

I am getting killed by star players in 2K3. (Arena's settings + edits)

                      AGREED.

I always listen to the commentary on every game for two games...then it's OFF. 2K3 has such cool stadium sounds and crowd reactions, I don't want it ruined.

Yea, I ussally turn my commentary off also. The crowd sounds make up for it dearly.
