<font color="red">The reason the Lakers are loosing is because there is no other talent besides Shaq and Kobe and maybe Devan George. Why is this???? Cause there is a great man that is no longer do his job within the oganization, who made the team a 3 time champ. Phil Jackson??? you say is that great man????? No. Phil is a great man in his own respects but, it goes a little deeper than him. What to know who the mystery man is???? Hmm..... let me think.......I know.......JERRY WEST???? Thats right.

Ever since JW left the Lakers the team has been in turmoil. He is the great man who brought in Shaq, Kobe, and Phil Jackson. If Jerry was still there maybe the Lakers would be on route to there 4th championship instead of havin a measley and dissapointing 11-18 record and having diappointments in guys like Kareem Rush, guys who were supposed to make the team better not worst. I truly believe that Jerry could of gotten the talent they needed to once again be crowned champions. Maybe the Laker organization should have tried a little harder to keep there man behind the curtain???? I bet the owner is kicking himself right now for letting Jerry go so easily. I guess you don't recognize how good something is until it's gone. </font color>

You hit on some good points.

Primarily, I think it's because Shaq is becoming mortal, and Kobe can't carry the entire load outside of Shaq. Shaq is still obviously a great player, but not at the level of before.

Plus, the Lakers can't make any moves. They are in luxury tax hell right now, meaning they have no manueverability unless they want to pay the piper bigtime in luxury taxes.

And Kobe and Shaq do not like either other. They tolerate each other while winning, but not now.

Horry and Fox now look very old, Fisher is not good, and the bench is Memphis Grizzly like.

I would disagree with them losing Jerry West has caused this slide. They have all the same players pretty much that they have had the last two seasons. The reason they are playing poorly is called complacency. Once you win 3 titles in a row let's face it a regular season game just doesn't mean jack s###. Now I will say if they don't start playing better that they will not make the play-offs. But don't write them off here in December remember we still have a looooonnnngggg way to go in the NBA season.
