Re: Mike James for Marquis Daniels?

^^Everyone on the Trade Board at R-GM is talking about Devin Harris + Marquis Daniels for #1 + Mike James. It would be two seperate deals since James has to be S&T (unless he can be traded and then opt out of his current contract..not sure on the CBA rules there). But the trade that is being REPORTED is only Marquis Daniels for Mike James.

I dont like it for the fact that we have Terry/Harris. If one is trade, and the only one that would probably happen is Harris since there are so many things that can go wrong on S&Ts, it might be unlikely. A lot of the other Mavs fans are about to pie their pants they want it so bad.

Its more that James doesnt fit a need for us (now) than his style or media comments. I think on a winning team he'd be better (though some HOU fans and NBA fans that go way back might know more about that.

If Daniels was replaced with Howard, I'd do that deal in a second.

Our PG and SF positions would be set for years and years to come.

Howard ain't going anywhere. He works on his handles and jumper and the guy is an All-Star. There are not too many "do everything" players in the league. Gotta hold on to one when you get one.

If it's just James for Daniels straight up I'd take that. James + #1 for Harris and Daniels, maybe. Who is it that Dallas wants in the draft? It doesn't have to be 2 seperate deals. Mavs just tell them who they want and the Raps make the pick then resign James and do the trade.

A player who can score with his back to the basket.

It aint happening, Dallas getting a top pick like that, but thats who Id take. He backs Dirk up for the first 1-2 years of his career with spot minutes at C and eventually, when Dampier gets uneffective and LA adds weight, he starts at C. But, It aint happening.

Lamarcus shoulda stayed in college and gotten better...right now I dont seem him bein a real threat to anybody...Big Baby gave him problems because he's to skinny...he shoulda stayed and added more weight...or he needs to stay in the weight room until the day of the 1st game....but, Frye is slim like he is...he might have some success if he can hit that 15 footer consistantly...*shrug* i dunno

Big Baby didn't give him problems. LA just missed his shots. He was able to get his shot off at will, but they just weren't falling.

Dallas needs a shooting guard with range and the ability to get to the basket. I was liking Quincy Douby for his shot but dude is only 6'3.

Becuz he couldnt get the position that he wanted and he looked uncomfortable where he was on the court...he was rushing his shots most of the time...and Dallas' team is FINE....they do not need a SG with range and penetration...they have enough offense...they need another intimidator...

On the radio this morning, a scenario that they threw out was a sign and trade involving Stack, Daniels, and Diop to Detroit for Ben Wallace. I'd do that!

^Dallas is not getting Ben Wallace. No way Detroit trades Ben to a team that is already one of the top 5 in the league when they are trying to win next year as well. Plus, considering they traded away Milicic to sign Ben and how well Milicic has done, it would be a horrible decision by DET to S&T him.

                          Let see...

Go to college, have to take 15 hours of classes, plus have to study and work with college coaches and college weight rooms or go to the NBA, have all those classes and study time gone so extra time to work out and be with professional weight trainers and weight rooms. I dont get why college would help him get bigger, but the NBA wont.

LA will be fine. Last year was basically his freshman season since he missed most of his actual freshman season with an injury. The fact he did so well was impressive and like any young player, he's going to be inconsistent. He's already shown he can hit the 15 foot, even the 19-20 footer consistently, but he can also play with his back to the basket and do other things.

I guarentee he'll be better than Frye.
