Rad isnt a bad signing though. He just doesnt fit the need of their biggest weaknesses.
True, but I think the Lakers felt the need for a reliable shooting SF was more urgent than getting a defensive minded PG. Radman is better than Luke Walton at shooting, driving to the basket, posting up...and IMHO their defense is at the very worst equal.
IMHO it was either or. Sign Marcus Banks for the full MLE even though you just drafted a guy that might be a starter in 3 years, or you sign a guy that can start at the 3 and backup at the 4 who shoots the ball pretty well.
Lakers chose to fill the starting SF need, which was easier to do than to solve the starting PF, starting PG need for the same price.
It doesn't look like the Lakers thought Banks was worth the full MLE, and apparently other teams don't either.
Rad man is a good upgrade over Luke Walton and Devon George at the 3 so I like the deal.
I'm worried though, that the plan is to start Smush again and just run with him until Farmer is ready to take over.
We'll see.Fulham FC...Showin' em love.

Re: Radmanavic to the Lakers/ Tim Thomas to the Clippers
We can all go around in a circle and debate this till the cows come home. I, like some people, would have rathered have Caron, JJ, or Kareem Rush. Last year I was happy with the Aaron Mckie signing and that turned out horribly. We need PG defense, or for Smush to improve in that area, which I think experience will help a lot with. After the debacles of two years ago I am not gonna argue with adding more people who can put the ball in the hole.Favorite Teams:

I know they had George and JJ, but look now.
The Lakers made a gamble that so far hasn't paid off.
I still like the Radman signing. IMHO he's a better player than Jermaine Jones, D. George and Luke Walton. He's offensively just as good if not better than Caron, but his defense isn't as good as Caron's.Fulham FC...Showin' em love.

Hell, they could probably still sign Rush. As far as I know he wasn't picked up by anyone after Charlotte cut him in April. Plus, what they said when they cut him couldn't have helped his image around the league...
"The Bobcats are about two things: hard work and maximum effort," general manager Bernie Bickerstaff said. "With that in mind, we think that it is best to go in a different direction with Kareem."Comment

Thats the thing Slymm... putting the ball in the hole wasnt LA's problems.
Doesnt matter carrabba if they paid Caron more, he was #1 worth more, and #2 they are already over the cap anyhow. With that, he was their FA to sign.
There is no arguing here man, please dont insinuate that. We're just talking about the team.
Radman is a good signing, but you guys will have the same frustrations as last year.Comment
