I would like to know also. On a side-note, how is NCAA College Basketball 2k3 Vinceanity2k3? NBA 2k3 is worth getting though because you can use NCAA to upload soon-to-be NBA ballers from NCAA to NBA 2k3 so that your playing with REAL rookies.

NBA 2k3 is much better than NCAA 2k3. If I could have 1, I would get NBA 2k3.

The franchise mode is real good.

Well the fact that you can put college players in is nice.

Changing coaches is a good feature I guess. If your not sure, rent it.

                Re: How\'s the Franchise Mode?(NBA 2K3)

NBA 2K3's franchise is pretty good. Here's how it works:
-After playoffs, you see list of retirements
-You see your FA's, you have a chance to resign any of your FAs, even if you are over the cap limit, you can ALWAYS resign your FA's and sign your draft picks
-See unsigned FA's from around the league, you usually can't afford to get them, but there are usually some pretty top notch guys available to sign
-You see the Draft Lottery take place
-You need to decide how many individual workouts you want to preform for incoming rookies. Each team has 1000 points total to work with(for player and coach salary and workouts), so you can get a bunch of workouts if you are in a good financial situation, if you resign all of your FAs, you will likely be way over the cap, so you will only have a limited amount of money to use to buy workouts. You can take as many or as little workouts as you want(if you traded your picks, you obviously don't need to spend $ on any workouts).
-Goto the combine or whatever they call it to scout the rookies. YOu pick the guys you want to check out, and then advance to the next week, you will see updated info on the guys you took a look at. Repeat this for a few weeks, the more times you work a guy out, the more you find out about him. If you work him out to the max, you will get a detailed summary on how that player will turn out as a pro(from "a lock to be a superstar" to "will have a solid, but not spectacular career"). The most helpful info is the NBA comparison, you likely won't want to scout a guy slated to be the next Adonle Foyle.....
                -Next is the draft
                -Sign your picks
-Make sure you have 12 players.
-Hire/resign your coach if your coache's contract is up(each coach has strengths & weaknesses, the better are more expensive)
-Allocate workout time for every player on your roster during training camp, you can do all around, post offense or defense and perimeter offense or defense(you never get to see any specific results of the training though).
                -Start the season.

I'm guessing this is more info than you wanted, but that's how it works. There are a bunch of end of season awards too. There's also a trading block feature where you put guys up on the block that you want to trade, other teams will make offers for him. The biggest negative is that the CPU teams will swap superstars a LOT and a lot of times they don't make sense(the Nets traded Kidd for Elton Brand and then traded for Jamison, leaving them with 3 star PFs....) but I think you can turn off CPU trades.

If you like CB2K3, you should like NBA, it's a different game, definitely different enough to justify buying both, look for arenas's slider settings if you want a realistic challange.

                Hope this helped.

The franchise mode is much better than the NFL 2k3 franchise mode because in NBA 2k3 players actually get better, while in NFL nobody every gets better they only decrease.

If you have xbox, you CANNOT take your draft class from CB2K3 into NBA 2K3, it's a bug. If you have PS2, i've heard that the game will switch skin colors and make other errors in the transfer, don't get NBA 2K3 so you can import your college players, it's a big mistake by Sega this year.

No problem. It's definitely worth buying, a very good game, and there are detailed sliders on this board that will help, as well as stats for creating players not in the game.

And yes, you can scout international players. They seem to follow the trent that when they are scouted it will say "a lock to be a future star". Then they will be rated in the 70s for about 3 or 4 years and then blow up into the 90s after that. I thought it was pretty cool because that's how most of the best foreign players of the past 5 years have developed. Dirk Nowitzki, Stojakovic, ect, they all were drafted and took a few years to become stars.
