Well, no one really says in any online articles, but the closest thing I found in terms of a clue is:

What happened at the party remains unclear more than three years later. But the next day, somebody -- there are conflicting reports as to whom -- notified the Sparks that Byears and a group of male guests allegedly had drugged and then sexually assaulted a former Sparks teammate. The alleged victim, a player from South America, returned home almost immediately.
