    Heard about this earlier...

Hopefully it keeps Boris' price tag down. After Nene signed that RIDICULOUS deal with the Nuggets, I thought that Diaw would ask for 60 million too. With Gooden and Wilcox signing for around 8'ish a year, hopefully Diaw will sign for the same.

I would expect Diaw to get more than Wilcox, so don't bank on it.

Yeah, Diaw is twice as valuable to Phoenix as Gooden/Wilcox are to their respective teams. Gooden/Wilcox could be just as valuable if they would get their heads in the game 100% of the time. So much talent...too many mental lapses.

While that is true, it's all about where the market is set. If Diaw was 6-11/7 like Nene was, he'd get Nene money. Since he's a bit shorter though, I think he wont get TOO much more than Wilcox/Gooden....even though he DOES deserve more.

I would expect quite a bit more than Gooden/Wilcox. Did you see him in the playoffs?

Lol I'm betting that he did see him in the playoffs.

Without looking at the numbers/contracts I don't know how the Suns are going to be able to retain all of their talent.

Nah, didn't see him in the playoffs .

If Diaw knows what's good for him, he'll take our offer because he's not gonna be able to get too much out on the open market because as it stands now, only a few teams (Charlotte, off the top of my head) are going to be able to offer a max contract then.

                  Excellent deal for Sonics.

If Phoniex wants to lock him up early via extension, they will probably have to pay a bit more than normal to do so. And Diaw's price tag would be more than Gooden/Wilcox regardless.

The only reaosn they were signed so cheap is becuase the market for them is so shallow. They could either sign a 1 year contract or sign what they did because all that was left is MLE offers and S&T, which CLE/SEA werent exactly seeking to do it seems.

I think Diaw will end up in the neighborhood of the oft-reported/ yet-to-be-consumated Al Harrington deal - 6 year/$57 million. He probably should be more in the $48 - $52 million range, which I believe is around what Tayshaun signed for.

I would assume the Suns will try to lock him up longer term like they did with Barbosa instead of the shorter deals of Gooden & Wilcox. He might sign for less per year if he has more guaranteed.
