Re: In Memory of Charles Smith
If I remember correctly the Knicks traded him to the Spurs to clear up cap space. They used that money on Chris Childs and Allan Houston. He was replaced at SF by Larry Johnson who they got for Anthony Mason. That video brings back memories. Thats right around the time before the NBA became watered down and turned into the dreck it is today. Teams for the most part played defense and unselfishley and you had great rivalries. Knicks/Bulls and Knicks/Pacers were classic battles.Last edited by Nyrican127; 09-30-2006, 11:04 PM.New York Mets

Re: In Memory of Charles Smith
ugh, I hate you.
But, I actually felt good watching that replay. Man, the NBA was so good during that time."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I blame Pat Riley for leaving his cold *** in when Hubert Davis was on the bench.Comment

Re: Remember Charles Smith
eh well Hubert Davis never turned out to be anything either... Starks might have been cold, but he was an all-star... I'd be pissed if the Spurs benched Parker or Ginobili in the waning moments of a game, no matter how cold they got.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment
