Wade uses the padding becuz hes always falling on the ground...I dont see how its unfair to the defensive player...or how it gives anyone un fair advantage....

I agree I don't want anyone getting hurt, but that is like wearing the body armor in baseball...
This is the best point made of wearing the pads. PLayers like Wade like ramming into other players and with this padding this would just give them more reason to do it. I've been concerned with this same thing about Wade the past few years and mentioning to my friends on how he will cut his career short if he keeps this up. The ban is good for now IMO for the pads. Leave leg warmers though.

Yeah, until he ran into one from Bill Cartwright.

they should only allow these extra things if the players needs them to keep their body healthy. If they aren't injured or aren't injury prone, then it just shouldn't be necessary. Just play basketball!!!!!

If these pads keep the players healthier than getting injured up too often naturally, then I guess it's fine.

The NBA will soon evolve. Today the touch foul. Tommorrow, full football gear for NBA players and a matching helmet to go with it.

i think stern goes overboard on "accessories" because he's highly sensitive to the image of the league when precieved by middle america.

i don't think your see that logo for long though, channel island's been around since the 80's.
