You know, I was watching that game. He was holding the rock at the top and I'm thinking with 5 seconds left he would drive to the lane, maybe take an 18 footer. This boy is a NUT!! Not only did he absolutely BLOW by every Laker like they were standing still, but DAAAAAAMMM!!! Two-handed on like, 8 different people ( I think he dunked on a couple of Cavs and a couple of Lakers and a couple of assistant coaches, the mascot, Jack Nicholson, and damn I think a cheerleader got some too. ) The problem is not his hops but his head. Kobe took over coming out of the break, not with just athleticism, but with excellent vision (he found a red-hot Derek Fisher 4 straight times) and very active D. If Ricky learns to play a complete game, with intensity for 48 minutes, he could contend for MVP. ( He already has Most Improved Award on lock.)

I watch almost every Laker game. He almost never dunks on other players.

Yea, Ricky Davis is gonna be a super-star by the end of the season. He can do it all. He averages 23points, 5assist, 5rebounds,and 1.5steals per game. That's amazing considering he scored around 7 a game last year. Kobe's more a finese dunker though, not the banger type like McGrady, Carter, and Ricky. I couldn't stand that sprite commercial where the guy said "yo Kobe! why do you have to go and dunk on everybody!" (which he almost never does).

              I have to disagree.

              Scoring is scoring.

You can't take that 23 ppg average away from him.

Night in and night out regardless of how your team is, the defense is there. At times it can be Ricky vs. the other 5, yet he still gets it done by scoring.

Ricky's just showing people his quickness. It only proves that with better players, he can be even better. The defense doesn't focus on RICKY, therfore RICKY can get more done because of more people contribiting.

Scoring doesnt make you a great or even good player. Averaging over 20 points on a bottom feeding team doesnt make you a future star. Somebody has to score on every team. Davis is 8th in the league in field goal attempts so he should be averaging 20 plus points.\

Matt Harpring is averaging 18.1. Does that make him a future allstar?

no it doesn't but he doesn't have the talent that Ricky does either. no one would every compare harpring to kobe'

the thing is how is he scoring his points ??? if he is athletic enough to get his in one on one situations then he is a legitimate scorer,

and i would agree with that assesment of beware of leading scorers on losing teams mostly when you are talking about expansion cause someone has to average 18 a night right??? but ricky is a different beast altogether. he has sat on the pine for what 3 teams and is just now getting his chance to shine he is also getting rebounds and assists and he is an athlete with major up side .

i think that is different than a doug west who obviously was the best player on the worst team and lacked the ability to create his own shot.
                  IMHO of course
