Jersey Number Question

K, so for Kobe to switch his number to 24 and Amare to 1, the teams had to, according to espn, send in the request at the beginning of January or something along those lines, for them to switch it for this year..

Now, when Webber got traded to Philly, I remember Iggy gave up his 4 by switching to 9 right away, yet he had been on Philly already and I thought only traded players could choose a number.

Anyone know how it goes?

Well, if Iguodala gives away his #4 he obviously has to select another number, he can't have a blank jersey.

Obviously... but HOW can he give it up when rules state u gotta notify the league a few mths before

i remember during a game they said the players had to notify the league by march 3 i think if they plan on changing jersey numbers for the next season.
