Re: Tel Aviv vs Cleveland
Not sure how I feel about all this preseason stuff with the Euroleague. Seems like Stern is testing the waters for a future NBA/Euroleague merger.
I love the NBA (even though I'm a vocal critic of today's game and its players) and I really enjoy the Euroleague (as a real fan of basketball should), but they have different styles that work for each league. Plus, all that travel time would be murder on players on both sides of the water.
But, I can see Stern making this happen in the near future.Comment

No way... Stern said that it'll be a few years before they go back over and play again... He said he likes it for a change, but he realizes the different styles, and the financial strain it would put on the league. He said it may be 6-8 years before they do this again.
It is a good change of pace though... but I'd still rather see some NBA teams go at it. Last year, we developed a rivalry w/ Boston through preseason games... that's what I like to see.Twitter - WTF_OS

There's no way an international league between North America and Europe would ever work. The proximity is just not there.
Stern isn't doing that, no chance. He's just paving the way for more Euros to come to the NBA.Comment

Re: Tel Aviv vs Cleveland
You can have a Euroleague finalist go up against the NBA finalist for the world title. And it'll be a 5 game series, where one team gets 1st crack at home for the 1st 2 games and the other team gets the rest of the 3 games at their homecourt.Comment

The nba champions always call themselves the "world champions" so now they could prove it.Comment
