    Marcus Williams

He's Been Big As Ever For The Nets During The Summer League & Preseason, I Know It's Only Preseason But If He Can Do That During The Season, The Nets Have A Chance To Be The Beast Of The East Again...

What Do You Guys Think About Him?

I'll Post The Link To The Knicks-Nets Preseason Game Last Friday Which Featured Almost All M Will Higlights Later

He wont get more than 15-MPG. I dont see him making that much of a difference, or pushing the Nets further than they went last year. Miami, Cleveland, Chicago and maybe Detroit Id still favor over the Nets.

I see this kid being very good weapon for the nets. It's just on how he's used once they enter the playoff(i think they will). I dont think their coach is good at all IMO. He destroyed Francis and Marbury during that game. I couldnt stop laughing at the sick passes and the ala young Jason Kidd moves he was doing. Knicks must be kicking themselves for taking Balkman.

He's already the best backup PG to play behind Kidd in NJ. He looked good in the preseason. Not a stud, but good.

He won't log enough minutes to win ROY.

He'll be the future PG of the Nets for years to come. Very heady.

I don't know how much of an impact he'll make this year, but I think he's going to become an elite point guard in a few years.

          Nets got a steal.

Well, what the heck else would you expect? He's obviously not gonna take away minutes from Kidd.

Yea, which is the reason I dont think he makes much of a difference and why I dont think the thread is worth talking about.

                    What high horse?

The thread is as much about Williams' future and potential as it is this season. Do you also feel that the thread on Andrew Bynum is useless as well?

                      Re: Marcus Williams

No because Bynum can make a huge difference on a team that features Kwame Brown and Chris Mihm in positions Bynum can play.

Williams will have a much more difficult time with Jason Kidd and Vince Carter playing ahead of him.

Is Williams a benefit to the Nets compared to what they had in guys like Jacque Vaughn? Yes. But make a difference this season in how far they go? No. The original post only refers to making the Nets a Eastern powerhouse this year and I dont see Williams making any difference there.

                        Re: Marcus Williams

Well, in his debut he had 7 points, 8 boards, 3 dimes but 4 TO's. He also played 24 minutes, exactly half the game.

YES was talking the entire game how the Nets would play Williams alot to try and keep Kidd more fresh during the marathon 82-game schedule.

You could tell how bad Williams is on D though, he's gonna get torched by just about every PG in the league.

I just dont think it makes a difference at the end of the day. Keep J-Kidd and VC fresh is great, but I dont see them beating a healthy Miami or Cleveland team, and on the same level as the Bulls/Pistons.
