Carmelo is being subbed out and tosses his headband out of bounds.. which results in a technical. I don't know whether or not I agree, although tossing things off probably isn't called for. Since he wasn't even in the game anymore, he probably shouldn't have been called.

Also, last night, Sheed was T'd and it was pretty questionable.

I just saw the highlight of Josh Howard blowing up Bruce Bowen. First game of the season, and good ole Bruce is already getting under people's skin.

Mavs played like they did in the Finals during the 2nd half. Nothing but jumpshots. Spurs to the line over 30 times, Mavs 16. I guess they ain't learned ****.

Rasheed was ignorant and cursing. You could already see that he wanted to be ejected.

I see the other thread on this subject, but are you serious? The second tech that he got was totally questionable mist. He got a foul called on him, and all he did was react. He looked like a dummy, but he wasn't cursing on the second tech, just reacted with that "who me" look and raised his arms. The ref teed him and that was when he lost it.

Like I said before in the 11/1 games thread reagarding Sheed's second T:

It was a cheap elbow shot to the ribs by Charlie Villanueva trying to draw a foul that aggravated Sheed, which eventually led to his ejection. He probably deserved it anyway since he was being kind of loud about it, but the unfortunate part was how it happened. Sheed was warning Villanueva about that elbow shot, but the official standing nearby misunderstood and thought the comments were directed to him. So that official gave Sheed the second T right on the spot without entirely knowing what was really going on.

I know the refs are not tollerating anything anymore and tech's are flying out left and right... but what exactly is "the new rule" everyone is talking about?

I assumed it was something about the amount of tech's a player gets or if a player gets ejected or something.

If someone could clear this up for me, I'd appreciate it.

Dallas looked good though imo. The Spurs just looked a little better, especially down the stretch. San Antonio barely missed in the final 3 minutes.

but Dallas is going to be right there with the Spurs in contention for the West this year. This was the first of many meetings between the two. They will probably meet in the playoffs again also. Last year the record between the two teams overall was 6-5 in favor of Dallas. It will probaby be much of the same this season. These two teams are pretty even (and are the two best in the West imo).

IMO in a season like last year, those two teams shouldnt have met until the WCF
