I agree with KDRE.. The NBA is all about highlights nowadays. And although it was a great highlight, it still doesn't take away the fact that the Knicks lost. When this season is over, and the Knicks have gone 10-72, see how many people are talking about that block, instead of the 72 loses the Knicks have.

Im just pointing out a fact and an observation. How ESPN ran that all night long, posted on the website, yet never went on about how the Rockets won, nor showed any of Yao's 3 blocks.

It would've been better had they won, but they lost on their own home floor, and the best you can come up for them is this?

Go ahead there Nate... Great job. Too bad you couldn't help the Knicks to a W though.

Maybe he's sick of hearing individual efforts being mentioned more than a win/loss.

I for one, am sick of it. All I hear is Ben Gordon scores 30+ points, but the Bulls lose. Theres a reason why Gordon ONLY scores 30+ points when we lose, its because he takes 90 shots! If he scores 30 points and we win, then I would be more than happy to praise him, but those 30 points DOES NOT MEAN anything when your team loses. When Kobe scored 81 points, do you really think it would have been a great achievement if the Lakers managed to lose?

Those highlights are great for 1 night. But for an entire season, its lost in the dust.

Ever since there has been profession basketball and tv they have been pimping the highlights. People complain that all shows like Sportscenter show is dunks and blocks but why wouldn't they? The are called "highlights" after all and not "run of the mill plays the somewhat had a contribution to the team winning the contest".

While i agree it was an amazing block i though it could have been called a foul. I guess when you are 5'9 and are challenging 7'5er you can get away with a bit more than the average guy.

Highlights have not been as you call pimped since there was basketball, adn the agenda was shown by NOT mentioning who won the game.

Highlights mean absolutely nothing when it adds up to a loss. Ask Team USA

Nate got lucky cause he caught Yao with more momentum. Basically it. It was a nice block, but over hyped like it never happened before. Hell, I've seen much better blocks by Tyrus, Ben Wallace, Jordan, Kenyon,....it was a nice little joint. I just wish ESPN would try to calm that crap down a little. I'm in the middle. Good to see highlights, but it's also good to see the mental part of the game. Stepping up the mentality of the game can only better the fans mentality. Highlights is the reason why so many people don't think so much when they dribble the ball.......

Gosh, is it so hard to acknowledge the fact that a 5'9 (and I doubt he really is) PG blocked a 7'6 Center?

Geez...take it for what it was. A great play. Nothing more, nothing less.

Im sorry, but i could care less if the knicks lost that game, because im not a knicks fan(though every game they lose gives us a better chance of landing oden or noah). Highlights stand up on their own, regardless of what happened in the game.

Even though the Knicks lost, you still have to admit it was an impressive play by Nate.

Not really. Wins and losses are numbers. A highlight is a moment in the game. I love the game more than any of the numbers.
