Reality startin to set in for the Mavs
It all comes out in the wash eventually. All the fans that Mavs gained after the first 25-30 games are slowly ringin the bell to get off the bus now. If you know sports you should have seen this comin. To much to fast is never a good thing. Nelson is not a good coach, and they dont play D in big D. No inside presence and no Bradley doesnt count. Nash is a great point guard, Finley and Dirk are both top 10 in the NBA at their positions, but you dont play defense so you cant win. Sorry.Tags: None -

Their D is definitely suspect, but come on, they're still a great team. Just cause they are in a mini-slump right now. They're still one of the top 4 teams in the L, and will still be so at the end of the season.Comment

They're still hungover from that reality dose they took in Sacramento. They desperately need Najera back, who tends to be the one that gets them through these lulls.
Feb. 4 will be huge for this team when they get the Kings in Dallas. I hate to label regular season games as must-win, and I won't here. However, they'd better play well, and play like themselves.
They're developing a disturbing trend of pressing in these "statement" type games instead of just playing their style and seeing what happens.
The Lakers and Celtics showed Detroit how to win. Detroit showed Chicago how to win. The Bulls showed the Lakers how to win, etc. I think the Lakers have shown the Kings, and the Mavs are now under the tutelage of the Kings and Lakers.Comment

Re: Reality startin to set in for the Mavs
Erod, you're right when you talked about the Mavs being under the tutelage of the Kings and Lakers right now. But with the youth and depth of the Kings, school will be in session for quite a long time. This isn't like the Pistons knocking off an aging Celtics team or the Bulls catching the Pistons at the end of their run. I can see the Kings running off a few in a row, and maybe more. Even if Dallas does manage to get home court this year, I don't really think it will matter. Not to mention the fact that the #1 or 2 seed out west may draw the Lakers, and that may mean an early exit for who ever plays them. We all know the Kings can handle them, but Dallas has yet to prove that.Comment

I wouldn't bet on a long long time because with success and championships, the Kings players are going to want to get PAID."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Reality startin to set in for the Mavs
Most of the main players on the team are locked up for the next 3 or 4 years. And do you think Keon Clark will go somewhere else? I'm not really worried about anybody leaving, not to mention the fact that guys are dying to come play in Sacramento.Comment
