Also why doesn't the nba have a 1-on-1 tournement (street ball rules) at the All-Star weekend, were the fans choose the player. i.e. MJ vs Kobe now that would be an awesome addition. This is what the nba is all about the 1on1 matchups. Just my opinion. Thoughts?

IMOP: The NBA All-Star would be much better if....
The Players/Coaches should be the ones voting the players into the all-star game and the fans should choose the players in the dunk contest (no more snubing the contest-it should be for the fans). Imagine Vince vs Kobe- that would be awesome.

The reason the fans wont vote on that, is cause all the players are dikheads! Look at the people in the Dunk contest not one big star, it used to be MJ, Nique, Nance, Kemp, etc.
Don't get me wrong the guys in the contest are good players, but not STARS. That is why I always gave Steve Francis props. Also it is called the Rising Superstars Dunk Contest and is for players with only 3 years or less in the league, the reason they did that is cus no Vet's will do the damn thing, so in order to make it look better and cover up that, they made it look like only the young guys can do it.
I also think the entire All-Star Weekend and game are awesome better than any sports, by a landslide. The celebs and people go to the All Star Weekend, not the Pro Bowl, Hockey or MLB All Star crap.Bout To Get Tha Belts Back in '06, DEEEEEEEETROOOOOOOITTTTTTTTTT BAAAAAAAAAAASKKKKEEEEEEEETBALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!! !Comment

Re: IMOP: The NBA All-Star would be much better if....
cut the fans. that's what i say.
I don't even vote for all-stars b/c I know my honest, REAL vote won't matter when millions of fans are voting for an overrated injured guard who doesn't even know how to win a ballgame for his team.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
