    Stephen Jackson

I was at the game tonight vs the Cavs in Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, and Jasikevicius' debut as Warriors, and all I can say is:

    Wow.

I have been attending Warriors games regularly for the past 10 years, and I have never seen an atmosphere in Oakland close to that ever. Period. The sold out crowd was going absolutely insane, and we didn't even have Baron Davis. It seriously had that playoff atmosphere. Amazing what one trade can do to an organization. Even though we lost in OT, I can see that this is a totally different franchise.

Anyways, Stephen Jackson has already won the fans over in Oakland. Before the game he came out in midcourt on the mic and thanked all the Warriors fans for giving him a warm welcome (he received a standing ovation in the pregame intros) and wished a great season to come and promised new things for Warriors fans. Later in the game, after dropping consecutive three's in the 4th in a 29 point performance, he ran to the stands and waved his arms in the air, getting the place going absolutely ballistic. Bottom line, the "problem child" of Indiana has already become the golden child of Oakland. (Ironic?)

This is what he had to say in a postgame interview: "I still have to learn all the plays and get a feel for everyone," said Jackson, who also had season highs of seven rebounds and five steals. "I could easily tell that the fans here appreciate basketball, and I'm going to give 110 percent for them."

This was the dawn of a new day for Warriors fans, who have been suffering unjustly for the last 13 years, and especially for the last 5 in the hands of Dunleavy and Murphy. The "Murphy sucks" and "Dunleavy sucks" chants were CLASSIC tonight. I know Stephen Jackson isn't the most popular man among these boards, but I seriously think OS is infamous for prioritizing athletes' off the court (or field) antics over their actual play. As long as the guy performs and continues to have a great relationship with the fans, I think the Warriors future will remain very bright.

One game is a little early, don't ya think?

Playoff atmosphere? How can you be certain.. I don't have enough fingers to count when the last time Oaklanders have witnessed an NBA playoff game.

        It's the Warriors.

stephen jackson is an NBA champion, and he brings that level of intensity to the team.

Im happy as hell with the trade and cant wait till these guys learn the plays and get in running shape.

remeber when Sacramento fans felt the same about artest when he came? You too will feel like crap in a few months when he has beaten up some hookers, yelled at your coach, and shot up some strippers. Theres no question he is good, but tigers dont change their stripes. You will learnt hat soon enough.

s-jax is a stupid player literally and figuratively.

not to mention his antics off the court make people despise him so much.

I'm happy for the Warriors. Finally made a smart move by hiring Don Nelson and they are playing very well (give Barnes more minutes!)

But, Stephen Jackson is the epitome of a player that shows his emotions and most of the time he isn't happy. He's happy now because he's out of Indiana and in a new environment. Give him a few months and he'll revert back to form.

Outside of that, he's not a good player, anyway. He can't hit a jump shot and his game depends on him taking 15-20 shots a night to be remotely interested. He isn't a good distributor and when you put too many shots and lack of distribution into a mathematical formula you get poor play.

                  Exactly.

I can't stand him and sooner or later, he will do something that'll have Warriors fans boiling.

I find it funny how none of u here have met him, yet know sooo much about what he can and CAN'T do, i believe he was sincere and at times was made a scapegoat for being in some bad situations, which no one here will never know the complete story on, just what is alleged and so-called reported by one-sided nightly news.

Jackson played great didn't realize he could pass so well. He will be a fan favorite in Oakland no doubt. The one thing I noticed is the chemistry Jackson/Harrington have brought to the Warriors something they have always lacked IMO. They should be a more cohesive team not just guys trying to get individual stats (aka Murphy).

I really cant image the trouble that awaits him in Oakland. The guy was always in trouble in Indy and now he is going to live and play in Oakland? This cant be good hid the women and children now!
