Should Chris Bosh get at least a little MVP consideration?

don't hurt me, just throwing the topic out there.

if the raptors win 40-45 games, I think his name should be mentioned.

Vince, no one in that division deserves MVP consideration. No one. It's like Arod winning the MVP when he was on the Texas Rangers.

You should be happy if/when the Raps make the playoffs and if they can cause some noise when it starts.

But no. He doesn't. Great year for him. But MVP worthy? No.

No. The Raps are a .500 team playing a sub .500 schedule. He's not really doing anything that Garnett or Brand haven't been doing for the last several years, and it took Garnett winning damn near 60 games (in the West, no less) to get his MVP.

Can we at least agree that Sam Mitchell should get some consideration for coach of the year? Key word...consideration

Yeah, I think he gets some consideration. It seems with coach of the year there's always 2 groups of coaches that get love. There's the coaches whose teams that have gone from bad to mediocre, or mediocre to good, and then there's the coahces of the top few teams in the league.

So, this year I'd put Mitchell, Sloan, Van Gundy, and Jordan in that first group so far, and of course D'Antoni, Avery, and to a lesser extent Pop in that second group. Of course it's still pretty early.

What about Phil? His system has the Lake Show clicking.

To answer the original question: no.

You want the Raptors to win SOMETHING don't you? LOL.

Gilbert Arenas should get the MVP in my opinion, Sam Mitchell deserves consideration for coach of the year.

No player in the East should win the MVP.

I'm a big Bosh fan but no, he doesn't deserve MVP talk just yet. I think he'll get some strong consideration over the next couple years because this team is on the rise.

As for Smitch? He's my COY if the Raps get 45 wins and make the playoffs.

LOL you're kidding right. The only reason he looks better this year is because the comparison is his bush league coaching the previous 2 years. This team has depth, most players play both sides of the floor and the way they're put together they compliment each other very well. This team should be at least 5 games over .500 right now. Remember Colangelo had to tell Sam to start giving Bargnani playing time or he would still be rotting on the bench right now.

The team has been winning lately but still look unfocused doing it and are lucky enough to be playing bad, injury riddled teams the past few games at home so they got away with it.

Case in point tonite against the Pacers who are well coached, as much as I like to be wrong, this game will not be close as Mitchell will not have them prepared properly.

The Raps will get between 35-40 wins this year but with someone competant coaching they would have 45-50 wins.

I agree with most and say no to Bosh and a definite no to Mitchell. They've been doing well in spite of him more than because of him, IMO. He gets outcoached game in, game out. He gets some respect from me because the players play hard for him. But COY? No chance.

However, there is an award that should go to a member of the Toronto organization and that's Brian Colangelo winning his second Executive of the Year award. The turnaround in talent, attitude and most importantly, culture of losing in one year's time is outstanding.

                          Nope.

I would give MVP consideration to Nash, Dirk, and Kobe but not Bosh.

I may change my mind by the end of the season though.

Toronto is certainly headed in the right direction imo. Brian Colangelo must be a very talented GM. He built up the Suns also. Has Colangelo ever won an award for best executive?

btw, Toronto would have REALLY been set nicely if the NBA wouldnt have put in the age restriction rule last season. What bad timing for the Raptors. The player they ended up getting is going to be a good player but the Raps would have been able to draft Oden. That might have made the Raptors a championship contender overnight with Bosh at PF and Oden at C.

Exactly. For the same reasons Arenas won't get it, because he hasn't been doing anything that AI been doing. AI won over 50 games in 2001 with Philly and took them to the finals.
