For the record, I'm a Rockets fan. That alone should tell you how much I want the Spurs to go back to the Finals.
I was giving props to the Suns saying you have to start somewhere.
With the exception of a couple of Denver games and one Utah game, the rest of the Suns' games against elite teams are not back-to-back.
They have Utah and Denver up next. I like them in both games, honestly.
And you have to be pretty good to win 17 in a row, regardless of if they played the Bobcats and Hawks and Grizzlies exclusively during those 17.
The Spurs had the Suns playing their game for a while, I at one point was afraid the Suns would score like 80 for the whole game but Barbosa and the squad forced the tempo and took advantage of the Spurs' fatigue of a back-to-back.
That advantage won't be quite as big come playoff time because you have 3 day breaks between games. And Dallas isn't afraid to play the Suns' pace of ball. It may not be their preference but they can play at any tempo. Dallas can win with Phoenix scoring 110. Phoenix has a better rebound margin (-2) this year than last (-4) and -7 in the postseason, largely in part to the presence of Amare. If Phoenix can keep that number around -2 or better, I will be very afraid of them in the playoffs, even vs. Dallas.
At this point, I think Amare's presence gives them a better shot at the Finals. I'm more afraid of the Suns this year than last year. Hopefully he can stay healthy for the whole time.
