To compare Ron Artest with Bill Laimbeer is BS!!
Without a doubt Isiah Thomsa is trying to make badboys out of his Pacers. He wants a tough minded team, and thats great. But Artest is making himself look like an unproffesional jackass. Im all for palying tough, physical basketball. I also love guys who can mentally intimidate. But going after a head coach, making obsene gestures, and breaking TV equipment is about as mentally intimidating as watching someone break into a jewerly store. Laimbeer did fight alot, and he did play rough. But you know what, he left it all on the court. He never HURT anybody, nor did he make obscene gestures or go after coaches. He didnt go on tv and talk a bunch of smack crap, like he was some 18 year old crack user on 79th ST. Isiah should make Artest play a smarter brand of basketball, and should teach Artest how to be a menatlly intimidating player without all the BS breaking equipment and threatning old men in suits. Laimbeer would of had Artest out of his game by Halftime. And 50/50 chance of both being ejected cause Laimbeer would knock Artest on his ***.
Oh and Artest, try practicing your free throws.Tags: None -

first you day laimbeer never hurnt nobody and then you say he would knock artest on his ***. that makes alot of sense. laimbeer would not be as effective today, he would be kicked out of alot of games cause they have cracked down on fraglent fouls.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

When I say HURT I mean INJURE. Laimbeer never hurt anyone. But he did knock peolple on their asses. Laimbeer scored over 10,000 points and rebounds. Thats good in any era, and any time. Laimbeer played when the NBA was at its best. Laimbeer would actually be more effective offensivley now because he was such a great shooter. teams play zones now, and he would kill a zone. And what centers do we have today other than Shaq, and maybe 2 others. Laimbeer is not listed as one of the NBA's greats for just getting ejected. Dont believe me??? Check NBA.com, or read a book. Laimbeer is there listed as an NBA great.

hate to admit it but "L" is right. Laimbeer would be VERY effective in today's game, as would any star player from the 80's. this guy did sooo much for his team and not a mention of being in the HOF....
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

Re: To compare Ron Artest with Bill Laimbeer is BS!!
From what I understand he will go in this year. He desrves it.
And there are two types of people who love to insist Laimbeer was a thug rather than the great player he was.
1. A fan of the opposing team, usually a Celtic, Bulls, or Laker fan (But mostly Celtic) who hated Laimbeer because he hurt their teams.
2. A young kid who only knows the NBA as the Iverson or Kobe league, either by ignorance, or for the fact they care nothing for anything about historics.Comment

Re: To compare Ron Artest with Bill Laimbeer is BS!!
actually he did hurnt someone, his own teammate isiah thomas he gave him like 10 stitches one time. about 2 weeks ago isiah himself stated that laimbeer would not be as effective nowdays with the new rules on fouls and technicals. he said the nba changed alot of rules because of the bad boys style of play. magic said the same thing about lambeir too, and i think they now alittle more then you.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment
