very well put. I love how people make character judgements based on one or two small incidents and ignore a million other incidents.

just becuase everyone else is capitalizing of him...it doesn't mean it's ok for him to. Instead, they should do what they've done, and go a further distance to stop ESPN etc etc from capitalizing anymore.

You need to set limits. Otherwise you teach kids like LeBron that he's above the rules. Then it extends into college (for most, unlike James)...and taking money, freebies and all kinds of stuff.

I mean, this kid is going into a league where discipline is very serious, and he should learn a little now. Nobody wants him ending up being a cocaine addicted flop becuase the pressure was too much when he thought he could do anything he wanted. It's happened before.

It's all about discipline, and the rule is there for the GOOD of the kids, I think. James is a HELL of a ball player...but he's a person to. Somewhere in all of this...people need to stop thinking about basketball, and take some responsibilty to teach this kid of life, it's rules, and to take responsibilty for yourself.

Down the line, NOTHING lasts forever. And this kid might regret having no college education, and having had everything on a silver platter.

well said innaskillz, players seem to be more and more willing to throw responsibility elsewhere, rather than looking in the mirror. But I'm NOT SAYING it would be easy to resist all that he was probably offered.

Its amazing how taking some jersey's the guy that owned them wanted to give you, makes you a bad person.

The eligibility rules for amatures are mid-evil and allow everyone to milk the athlete for all he/she's worth, except the athlete.

Well, now at least he can sign the contracts.

Not all rules are good rules.

How can you say he's had everything on a silver platter? He obviously had to work hard to get to the point he is at. It's ridiculous the way he has been exploited. The kid doesn't even belogn in high school basketball, he should just work on his game with ex-pros and be ready for the NBA Draft.

Why are people saying he'll have no college education? Last time I checked, you don't have to play ball to sign up for some classes.

A college education isn't even all its cracked up to be. The majority of stuff you have to take is just so that the school can get as much money out of you as they can. I've been finished with school since June and have yet to have anyone ask me to explain cellular division in order to get a job.
