I think he'll be good but not great. I can picture to be like Lamar Odom. Good, but not great.
Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.

Yeah, most 1st picks in the draft usually dont reach expectations, if you look at all the elite players in the league, just about none of them were no. 1's, Iverson is the only one I can think of...

He's not going to be as good as he could have been because he's going to miss out on the 3-4 years of development he could have gotten at college and only college (since the NBA has no true minor league except the NBDL which isn't even at the level of good D1 schools).

He could become the greatest ever, but he still would have been better had he gone to college.
I imagine he'll be an all-star, and with all the hype might even get the votes his first year.

Its sad that he isn't going to college. And not just for one year with plans to go right to the pros. There's so many aspects of his game that could improve with 3-4 years of tutalige under a good college coach. He's not going to ever be able to make up that time, the pro-game can't emuate the level of college play where he could be playing 30 minutes a night against players of his same age group.

Duncan was a #1 pick too! Yea i think he'll be good but not great. I like the comparison to Lamar Odom excpet he's more of a point gaurd. Maybe he'll be a mix of T-mac and Gary Payton. I think that after his rookie year he'll be bad like 10 ppg and 4 rpg but only 40 % form the field. He's gonna struggle cuz in high school hes playing mostly against guys that are like 5'10! So imagine T-mac vs. Brvin Knight if you know what i mean.

Speaking of Duncan, he is my favorite example of why kids need college to develop the all around game needed to excel at the NBA level.

Duncan, Joe Smith and Rasheed Wallace were all young guys playing center in the ACC at the same time.
Joe Smith was easily consider the best of the 3.
Wallace and Duncan were basically considered equals.

Only one stayed at college for any length of time.
And only 1 shows the complete all around game, the fundamentals and maturity to be a true star.
                            Tim Duncan.

                            From this link:

THE STANDOUTS: Joe Smith, Maryland; Tim Duncan, Wake Forest; Jerry Stackhouse, UNC; Rasheed Wallace, UNC; Harold Deane, Virginia; Keith Booth, Maryland; Jeff Capel, Duke

THE ASSESSMENT: Duncan, the NBA's Most Valuable Player last season, didn't seriously challenge Smith for the ACC's top rookie honor even while leading the league in blocked shots. Smith averaged a league-high 10.7 rebounds.

By his senior season, Duncan was easily the nation's best collegian. Smith, Stackhouse and Wallace turned pro after their sophomore seasons.

We see it all the time. Players that leave early typically don't live up to the hype.
They look at the Kobe Bryants of the world and the KGs and think they can do it too.
But what they forget is that KG and Bryant both probably aren't as good as they could have been had they played at college.
No matter how good we think they are, none has the complete game of the mid 80 stars like a Barkley, a Jordan, a Malone, etc.
