    MJ fined...

    Seems a bit harsh IMO.

It's not like Mike needs the money...but 15 grand for this seems a bit ridiculous.

Team coaches and executives are barred from talking about underclassmen who have yet to declare for the NBA draft. But in an interview with The Charlotte Observer last Tuesday, Jordan said he was interested in versatile players and added, "The kid who may present that is the kid in Texas. (He) may have that because he has all the right signs."

Didn't they just fine someone else for talking about Durant as well?

Noone has been fined for giving thoughts on Oden?

    What's the purpose of this?

Fined for talking about the kid, huh? That's the NBA for ya.

      Oh, well. Rules is rules.

Hey....he did a skit with the Super Fans, so he could just talk like they do! (e.g., I'm thinkin about a certain kid with a certain versatility playink for a certain Southern school which shall remain nameless.....)

The fined Don Nelson for saying that at this point he thought they would just need to go with the bigger guy, and somehow that was liable for a fine. The NBA is getting pathetic these days, Nelson never even mentioned a players name, he just answered a question and basically pointed out that they needed a big man, something thats pretty obvious, yet he gets fined.

Come to think of it, saying "the kid in texas is showing the right signs" should not = a fine. You'd think the NBA league office is hard up for money.

When they fined Danny Ainge people made a big deal about it. The same thing happened with MJ and everyone thinks it's ridiculous.

                      That's like a $1 to Jordan.

Mike is gonna ask Stern to go with double or nothing that he doesn't do it again.

Danny Ainge actually went to a game and sat next to Durant's mother. Jordan made a quick comment about a kid in Texas. Yea its the same thing.

Well in that case it's still ridiculous, but in the opposite manner. He may be making an influence on the kid, but I don't think he should get fined.

Who shouldn't get fined? Ainge? The rule is you cannot have contact or even talk about current college players, and yet he goes to Durant's game and sits next to his mom and has a nice long conversation with her. I think a fine is warranted there, based on the rules.
