If Baron Davis played 82 games every season he'd be the NBA's best player

    True or False?

I'd most definetely have to say True. No other player is more complete than Baron Davis. He's a fantasy nightmare because of injuries. But if he played 82 games he'd be the best year after year. He gets physical. He plays amazing defense. He can score. He can most definetly pass. He wins. Every team he has been on for a full season has had a winning record except last year's Warriors in which Baron only played 54 games.

He's scary to guard, because he's big and quick. He's scary to face because he plays hardcore defense... puts him above Nash, I'd say.

Don't forget that Baron Davis was playing this way for the Hornets back in the early 2000s (Charlotte days) before he allowed his weight get out of control. Then the injuries mounted up. Then the messy contract issues that prompted him to sign with Oakland. Then more injuries. Now he has slimmed down and is healthy for the first time in a while, he's back to his old dominant form.

At any rate, I've always thought of Baron Davis to be a freakish combination of Chauncey Billups and Stephon Marbury, taking the best skills set from both players. He can defend, bully opposing guards in the post, shoot for the most part (not as good a 3-pt shooter), along with carry the leadership role like Billups. Then combine that with the quickness, ball handling and passing ability of Starbury. He's certainly a nightmare to guard.

But to answer the question, I would say false. He's a Top 5 PG, but not Top 5 player in the NBA let alone best player.

I've been knowing this for a while. When I saw him at UCLA before the injury I thought he was gonna be a hall of famer.

i dont know if youve ever hurt your knees before man. but when you have a knee injury, it makes it very hard to walk down the stairs. let alone play 48 minutes of basketball ngiht in and night out.

his knees are the sole reason his weight was a issue at all.

he will never be 100% anymore, but i hope he can still be a WARRIOR and battle through the pain I KNOW he is going through in those knees.

Baron is a top 3 PG IMHO.. he does everything well, and on top of all that he is clutch.

          Knee injuries suck.

              False.

If he played 82 games every season he wouldn't even be the NBA's best PG.

Precisely. If healthy... he's much better.

                Big if, though.

He definitely has the talent. No other PG has the package he does

Though I do think he is vastly underrated. However, on the flip side, I feel as if OS and the basketball community at large has a tendency to over-inflate whoever is hot at the time. Now it is Bdiddy. Before that it was Kobe during the streak. Before that it was Gilbert Arenas, and on down the line...
