Was not really a firing, both sides came to a mutal agreement.

He has untill June to decide if he wants to accept a front office position

I'm not surprised as most because the team hasn't done well in the last couple of years....essentially, their window to contend closed when Artest got suspended

Hopefully, he'll come to Seattle. He was our Sonics color commentator on Fox Sports Northwest right before Detroit hired him.

Even if he just came back as our commentator, it would probably improve the Sonics.

Carlisle got a ra deal in Indy, just like he did in Detriot. No coach was taking Indiana anywhere after the Artest situation a couple years ago. Then, a couple ******** trades later and the Pacers roster is mediocre at best.

I agree 100%, this guy led a team through tough times and still kept them relevant. The Artest incident was a killer for this franchise, but its not like the Pacers front office shouldnt be held accountable for that awful trade this year when they brought in Troy Murphy and Dunleavy, once they did that they went from a team who played tough, stingy defense to a team that would rather not play any defense. Couple that with Jermaine's knee problems that seemed to last the entire season, and its no wonder they didnt make the playoffs. I will never understand why you sign Al Harrington and then trade him so quickly, and as much as I hate to say it, trading Stephen Jackson seems like a bad move also, almost like he provided them with some of the toughness they definently lacked when they threw Dunleavy and Murphy on the court.

As previously stated...Carlisle should put a hit out on Artest. The second Artest charged into the stands, the Pacers' downward spiral began.
