Well I haven't been to this board in a couple days and man I'm loving this thread, ya know I'm gonna speak about my pistons so here we go.

Excellent quote pal, to bad Detroit leads that series 2-0, we lead Indy 2-1 and NJ 2-1. We also have the best record vs. The West, the third best road record (best of East team's tho).

The only series we aren't winning is MIl, which we lost 3-1.

This team is only getting better and we are the deepest team in this league, Sacramento is the only team that comes close, but we play more as a team and such tougher defense. Our problem was offense, but now we are able to score and Okur is also helping Ben on the boards as well as Corliss becoming a bit of a factor on the glass as well. This team is now First Place in the East and is also the BEST TEAM in the EAST, and a top 4 team in the league. We can damn well make the finals and I honestly think we can win the NBA Championship, but I don't like speaking to soon. We're so balanced and play so hard and have so many weapons. If Okur can keep on developing it makes us just so much better too, and Hamilton has avg. 26 ppg since the All-Star Break and hasn't played many minutes cus we have been in blowouts.

Yeah, I love this thread too.

And I tell you what... I'm very impressed with Mehmet Okur's rebounding ability. He's not a huge, muscular guy, nor an intimidator on the glass like Ben is. However, Okur somehow comes down with some tough rebounds that I wouldn't think he could get in traffic. I wonder what it would be like with Okur, Wallace, and Zeljko Rebraca being on the floor at the same time. We would really be able to hit the glass then.

Only thing I'm worried about now is that Cliffy has been slumping lately, as well as Jon Barry. I hope those guys get it going by the time the playoffs begin.

Cliff has been good overall, he'll be back.

Barry has seemed a bit off, but he can also get it back, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is traded by tommorrow to tell you the truth, but I also wouldn't be surprised if was a Piston for another 2-3 years. Who knows, but Trader Joe is pretty sneaky.

                <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

So EVEN with the most ugly trade in the history of the Celtics, plus the fact that they left a player like Rodgers they are still only 5 games off the Eastern Division leader Nets, are in 4th place in the conference(where they ended up last year) and are currently 4-1 in their current West coast trip with tomorow's game at Arco being the last on the trip. Oh btw Piston's (10-5) record agianst the West is only a half game better than the (11-7) record the C's got against the West.

Ohhh and believe me, I know the Celtics are not the favorites to win the East(duhhhh), but saying they can't contend is just ludicrious. They said that last year and.......
Make no mistake about it, Pistons are a very good team(defensivly at least) and I give them their props, BUT they are IMO overrated. In the east any team can beat any team in any series.

I ain't talking any trash here, I just responded to the mention of the Pistons blowout at the Fleet wich was just an aberration, so you Pistons fans need to take a deep breath and stop whyning about other fans opinions.

Apparently you dont remember the series well enough if you think Peirce and Walker did the damage. Sure Peirce and Walker are both good for 30ish give or take a few, but Andersons play was enough to put them on top of us. So much so, that in an effort to fill the hole that Anderson proved was there in the Pistons D, we went after and signed Billips.

Saying the pistons are overrated has to be one of the funniest things Ive heard all basketball season. Every time you hear anything about the good teams in the east, you hear Jersey, Indy, Boston or even NO. If anything the Pistons are underrated, since everyone counts them out of making the finals. Maybe now that we are number one in the east people will take notice.

Regardless if you think the thrashing the Pistons gave the Celtics was an aberration or not, it happend. And was the 2nd largest road win in NBA history. Sure a 50 point win does you no better than a 1 point win, but to see us destroy the Celtics that way just made me smile.

Personally I havnt seen any Pistons fans "whyning" about anyone's opinion, but if you think you can just right-off a 52 point loss by calling it an aberration, your nuts.

Pistons speak out from atop Eastern Conference

Two years on top of the Central Conference, and still getting chumps saying they're overrated.
Fun Fact: Every Tom Izzo recruiting class has played in a Final Four.

It the NBA Jam, NBA Street, hotdog ballin' kids of today that think Kobe putting up 45 in a LOSS is better then Big Ben scoring 3 points and grabbing 16 boards in a win.

                            Offense wins games...
                            Defense wins Championships...

The Pistons are the Tampa Bay Bucs of the NBA. Nothing flashy on offense... Play good D and don't make mistakes. Period. Average margin of victory in the last 8 games for the Pistons is 17!!! That's a fluke!?!?!? Save it Kobe...
