Yeah this Kobe/TMac battle reminds me of the Penny/Hill rivalry that was going down except for Kobe and TMac are a bit better.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

The differance I see between Kobe and Mcgrady is that kobe looks like he is pushing and pressing to score where as it comes easy to tmac and it looks more effort less i would compare tmac to george "iceman" gervin. I don't like Kobe but I have to give him props w/ the 40 point run he has been playin like a badass, not as good as mj's in 1990 where he avg 43.7 pts 8.0 rebs 7 asts and Kobe is avg 40 pts 5.0 rebs 3 asts(from new espn mag) but kobe has led his team to victory in almost all those games but mikes was better. But you also gotta give it to Kobe for crushin the comp at the rucker this year, anyone who can dominate at the rucker is a playa in my book, stack went up there a few years ago and got 42 points dropped on him by a kid name Junie.

funny...that`s EXACTLY what Kobe thinks it`s all about....SCORING TITLE. i find it HARD to believe that T-Mac is chasing the scoring title. i find it even harder to believe that he gives a f ck what Kobe is doing in L.A.
McGrady does it with ease...he does it within the flow of the game. That`s how you ACCUMULATE not PAD stats geniuses. McGrady is in the mold of Magic Johnson just playing in a different era.

I can't believe some of you people act like you know what Kobe is thinking all of the time. Way to back up your assumptions with "I find it hard to believe". Way to back up your comments with some credibility. I could come out and say I find it hard to believe T-Mac is not becoming a scoring machine because of Kobe. But do I have any proof other than "I find it hard to believe?" No. Keep on bringin' these great comments and make yourselves look even dumber. Cause I know they won't stop.

No competition between T-Mac and Kobe. Kobe is competing with himself as to how many times he can see himself on Sportscenter.

T-Mac plays a COMPLETE game and this game against the Nets proves it. ALL-AROUND. And he makes his teamates better in the process, especially the younger players.

Kobe is consumed in his own ego. I want to see Kobe try to chuck it up 30+ times during the playoffs and see how far the Lakers go. I think electro-shocks go through Kobe Bryant`s body when he passes the ball to his teamates. I hope he remembers this streak of his when the Lakers get knocked out of the playoffs...

tmac does it in a really different way, that is the way he leads his team, he does it to lead the team and not for himself. wow, taking only 26 shots! man for kobe he can do that with ease but the difference is about 40 shots and less than 10 assists.

If a player has 39 points, why would he not try to chase a record and go for 40? He didn't start forcing the issue intil late in the 4th. I sure as hell would try to take a record if it was in reach. But I'm probably abnormal. It's not like he was forcing the ball all game.
